The internship assignment
You’ll support the lead engineer responsible for sprinkler and hydrant systems. This is a hands-on internship where you learn how professional fire suppression systems are operated and maintained in real facilities. You won’t run the show yet — you’ll assist, observe, document, and gradually take on smaller tasks. You’ll receive direct mentoring from an experienced engineer throughout the duration of your internship and have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful safety-related tasks.
What You'll Do
Support the lead engineer with routine inspections and maintenance of sprinkler and hydrant systems.
Help with troubleshooting and documentation of technical issues.
Assist in updating maintenance records, checklists and reports.
Participate in preventive maintenance activities and system checks.
Support emergency preparedness tasks (e.g. checking equipment, updating plans).
Help prepare simple project documentation for upgrades or modifications.
Shadow the lead engineer during audits, site visits and coordination with other teams.
What You'll Bring
Currently studying Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Building Services or a similar technical field.
Strong interest in technical systems and practical work.
Basic understanding of technical documentation and safety topics (nice to have).
Reliable, curious and willing to learn.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
German and English skills (B2 or higher).
