The position focuses on advancing the analysis and interpretation of 3D magnetic measurements and establishing a strong feedback loop between theory and experiment, enabling theory-guided material design.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reconstruction algorithms:
Develop physics-informed reconstruction algorithms for 3D magnetic imaging, incorporating noise modeling, uncertainty quantification, and realistic physical constraints into X-ray and electron tomography workflows.
- Data interpretation and visualization:
Create advanced analysis and visualization tools to identify complex 3D magnetic structures such as hopfions, vortex rings, and topological field linkages.
- Inhomogeneity detection:
Apply machine learning and latent inference methods to detect and characterize spatial inhomogeneities and magnetic defects in 3D datasets.
- Theory–experiment feedback:
Compare simulated and experimental configurations to refine micromagnetic models and topological classification tools in close collaboration with theoretical and experimental partners.
- Materials design guidelines:
Translate theoretical and experimental insights into practical design rules for the additive manufacturing of functional 3D magnetic materials.
