Job Title: Senior Synon (CA 2E) Developer – RPG
Job Description
We are looking for a highly experienced Synon (CA 2E) Developer with strong RPG expertise to support enterprise application development and maintenance. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams in a German-speaking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using CA 2E (Synon) and RPG on IBM i / AS400 platforms
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Perform application enhancements, bug fixes, and production support
- Work on system integration, code reviews, and performance optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business users, QA, and project stakeholders
- Participate in requirement discussions, solution design, and documentation
- Ensure adherence to development standards, coding best practices, and project timelines
- Provide L2/L3 support for critical applications when required
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders in German (C1 level mandatory)
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Synon (CA 2E) development
- Strong expertise in RPG (RPG III / RPG IV / ILE RPG)
- Experience working with IBM i (AS400) systems
- Good understanding of SDLC, debugging, and support processes
- Strong communication skills in German (C1 level – mandatory)
- Experience working with European clients/environments preferred
