Payload Architect for Analog & Digital Payloads (m/w/d)
Your Tasks
To further expand the OHB Telecom payload team, we are looking for a payload engineer with broadband experience in high-frequency technology and antenna technology for digital and analogue telecom payloads in a LEO, MEO and GEO orbit.
- Technical support in the creation of offers within the Telekom department

Perform link budget analyses (utilizing OHB in-house tools) to determine system capacity i.e. overall aggregated data rates

Elaboration and development of your own payload approaches for a telecom mission

Development of analogue and digital payloads based on customer-specification
-
Carrying out and supporting all unit reviews of the telecom payload
-
Creation of all documentation in the course of a satellite project of phase 0, A, B, C/D and phase E
-
Support of all subsystems related to payload interfaces (e.g. Harness, SRDB, MIB)
-
Preparation and execution of customer payload PDRs and CDRs
-
Preparation, implementation and support of environmental tests in TVAC and CATR
-
Calculation, preparation and execution of payload auto compatibility measurements
-
Planning and execution of payload IOT (In Orbit Test) RF tests
-
Creation, testing and implementation of payload RF settings
-
Contact person for the payload during the satellite's lifetime
Your Qualifications
-
Initial experience with digital payloads & digital beamforming would be excellent
-
Knowledge of current standards (DVB-S, DVB-S2 RCS) and interest in future standards such as 5G/6G
-
Master’s degree in RF- or communication engineering, antenna engineering, electrotechnic-engineering or equivalent qualification
-
Understanding of high-frequency technology (TWTs, LNAs, filters, converters in the frequency bands of P- up to Q/V-Band)

Skills in digital communications engineering, modern SDR technologies & in the field of digital antenna beamforming
-
Experience in the field of optical communications technology (ISL terminals) may be advantageous

Work experience in systems engineering is desirable

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Strong knowledge in English; German is a plus
