Project Technician / Engineer -Substation Automation (m/f/d)
We are looking for a Project Technician / Engineer - Substation Automation (m/f/d) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the engineering, parameterization, commissioning, and technical support of substation automation and secondary systems used in substations and high-voltage switchgear installations. Working in a safety-critical environment, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and long-term resilience of modern energy infrastructure.
Your Tasks
- Develop applications for secondary technology components and systems while ensuring compliance with relevant IT and OT security requirements in critical infrastructure
- Integrate and connect external control centers, systems, and devices in our integration labs, including functional testing and factory acceptance tests with customers
- Perform commissioning of secondary technology at customer sites across Germany and handle internal and external service cases
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, standards, and procedures to enhance testing quality and efficiency
- Create, maintain, and update technical documentation related to applications, commissioning, and testing activities
- Support customers and actively contribute to the development of concepts and requirements in the field of substation automation
- Work closely with project management and systems engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery and high customer satisfaction
Your Qualifications

Successfully completed technical training (e.g. state-certified technician) or a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical discipline

Confident handling of parameterization tools for protection and control devices (e.g. Relion, Siprotec) and willingness to learn Hitachi/ABB tools such as PCM600 and MicroSCADA

Experience with OMICRON test equipment and Fink protocol simulation and diagnostic tools is an advantage

Good understanding of the interfaces and requirements of related disciplines, including primary systems, protection systems, and transmission technologies

Self-motivated, structured, and solution-oriented working style with a high sense of responsibility

Strong communication and teamwork skills, combined with flexibility and commitment

Willingness to travel occasionally within Germany and the DACH region, and a valid driver’s license (Class B)

Business fluency in German; good English skills are an advantage
