We are looking for an innovative Process Piping Designer to join our Process Design team in Gigafactory Berlin. The process design team drives to create the factory of the future by bringing conceptual designs to life, producing cutting-edge detailed design of chemical and utility systems that are fully integrated with manufacturing processes.
What You'll Do
- Design includes the following deliverables:
- Modelling 3D piping and elements in Revit and P&ID in Autocad or similar modelling software
- Creation of parts in 3D modelling in Inventor or similar
- Specification development including equipment, piping selection and sizing, material compatibility analysis, etc
- Creation of documentation packages, datasheets
- Supportive function to planning engineers
- Review process design work performed by others on the Process Team to ensure every pipe design maintains the highest level of quality.
- Continually develop and improve upon Tesla standards to ensure each design is consistently excellent
- Helping engineers with standardization (setting up Revit families, creation of libraries etc.)
- Linking point to pre-construction team for IT-tool development (Revit plug ins, BOQ creators etc.)
What You'll Bring
- Apprenticeship or similar experience as draftsman for “technical system planners”
- Excellent experience of modelling/detailing of piping designs on AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks
- Good experience in the use of BIM platforms (ACC)
- Familiar with some typical equipment and technologies, like compressed air, handling industrial gases, waste and pure water treatment and distribution, piping specifications, heat transfer tools etc
- Ability to adapt to fast pace working environment, distill, document, and manage scope effectively to accelerate dynamic projects
- Ability to take over the ownership and responsibility of a subject and to follow up multiple issues
