We are looking for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our project in Frankfurt, Germany. STS Group is fully committed to the highest Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality practices.
The Opportunity
This role will work closely with the wider project leadership team to ensure our project meets the highest standards, meeting and exceeding our clients' expectations and deliverables. Key to this role will be a deep technical focus on Level 1 to Level 3 (L1-L3) commissioning phases, ensuring all electrical systems are safely and systematically pre-commissioned, energised, and ready for integration.
Here are some of the key duties of this role:
- Prepare electrical commissioning test documentation, method statements, and L1-L3 commissioning plans
- Issue the relevant ITRs (Inspection Test Records) to the Cx Agent to achieve the subsequent commissioning tags
- Perform and witness quality inspections of the energy system installations, resolving L1-L3 defects and snags before energisation
- Review completed electrical test documentation and populate into the electrical TTOPs (Turnover Packages)
- Implementation of STS Commissioning and Inspection Test Plans on projects
- Liaise with subcontractors and approve their proposed pre-commissioning and testing procedures
- Support the commissioning procedures with the relevant test inspection data, focusing on cold and hot commissioning steps (L1 factory/on-site receipt, L2 component installation verification, and L3 cold/energized testing)
- Deliver STS commissioning safety-themed inductions and toolbox talks to project teams
- Review and issue final L1-L3 handover packages to the client
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and European standards throughout the installation, inspection, and energisation of the project
- Meetings/inspections with local regulatory bodies and utility providers as required
- Liaise with the client on installation, testing, and commissioning matters
- Attend coordination and commissioning progress meetings
- Input into weekly progress reporting on commissioning milestones and testing schedules
- Perform internal commissioning audits and safety walkdowns
Key Qualifications Required:
- Electrical/MEP craft qualification with commissioning experience or Electrical/MEP Engineering degree with commissioning experience
- Commissioning auditing experience and/or qualifications, with specific expertise in L1 (factory/static), L2 (pre-commissioning), and L3 (energization/cold commissioning) phases
- Evidence of previous experience controlling the electrical testing and commissioning handover of Data Centre projects
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational / planning skills, particularly regarding electrical safety protocols and lock-out tag-out (LOTO) procedures
- Ability to self-manage, prioritise and work to tight deadlines
