Job Description
We are currently seeking a Plant Supervisor (m/f/d) to join the Ulbrich Europe Metals team in Remscheid, Germany (note: the facility will be moving to Hückeswagen in October 2026). Ulbrich Europe Metals is a premier metal service center serving customers throughout Europe with high-performance nickel alloys, stainless steels, and specialty metals. Operating from our 60,000-square-foot facility, we provide precision strip products and innovative material solutions that support manufacturers across a wide range of industries. As Plant Supervisor (m/f/d), you will play a key role in leading production operations, developing our team, and driving safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all operational activities at our production facility

Develop and mentor employees

Ensure achievement of quality, productivity, and delivery targets

Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives

Maintain high standards of workplace safety and regulatory compliance

Work closely with executive management and international corporate functions
-
Facilitate purchasing of non-steel products, packaging supplies and support equipment to ensure production flow is uninterrupted.

Supervise the efforts of staff performing diversified machining and material processing functions on a variety of metals including stainless steel, specialty metals, and foils of differing gauge, width and length. Manage staff involved in the performance of process operations such as slitting, packaging, and edging, as well as secondary operations.

Request equipment repairs and new tooling as needed, and review department expenditures regularly to effectively control costs. Participate in defining new equipment specifications.

Work in collaboration with Maintenance Service Providers in the resolution of equipment malfunction and repair.

Identify and record any nonconforming product problems and initiate corrective measures.

Ensure compliance with all quality system procedures and requirements as documented in the Company’s Quality System and as pertain to area of functional responsibility.

Ensure departmental and shift compliance with defined safety practices and procedures. As lead safety representative identify potential hazardous and/or unsafe working conditions and initiate corrective action as necessary.

Check, prepare and /or maintain time, production or other reports or records as required in connection with department operations.

Qualifications

Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent professional qualification

Proven leadership experience in metal processing or a comparable industrial manufacturing environment

Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and process improvement methodologies

Strong communication skills

Demonstrated leadership capability and organizational skills
