Introduction
We are looking for a Field Application Engineer (EMEA) to support leading Industrial, Aerospace & Defense, and Medical customers across Europe. In this customer-facing role, you will help drive design wins by connecting customer requirements with MIPS' processor IP, software tools, and custom silicon solutions.
Your Job
Serve as the primary technical contact during customer evaluations and early development phases.
Guide customer engineering teams in the adoption of MIPS processor IP, software tools, and system solutions.
Provide technical expertise on processor integration, software development environments, and system architecture considerations.
Drive design-in activities and support customers throughout the evaluation and implementation process.
Lead technical discussions related to CPU IP licensing and custom silicon solutions.
Help convert opportunities into successful design wins.
Demonstrate the value of MIPS technologies, including open RISC-V architectures, high-performance computing solutions, and functional safety-ready offerings.
Support customers in optimizing system performance, power efficiency, and cost.
Troubleshoot technical issues across hardware and software environments and collaborate with internal engineering teams to resolve complex challenges.
Partner with Business Development and Sales teams to support new opportunities and customer proposals.
Participate in customer workshops, demonstrations, industry events, and ecosystem engagements across EMEA.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's degree in an engineering discipline or similar
2-5 years in Field Application Engineering, Applications Engineering or Design Engineering
Experience in Semiconductor IP, SoC/ASIC development, or embedded systems, Industrial, A&D or Medical or related markets
Proven track record supporting customer engagements and design wins
Strong understanding of Industrial, A&D or Medical electronic architectures (MCUs, SoCs, domain/zonal controllers)
Familiarity with: Processor architectures, Embedded software development (compilers, SDKs, OS) and System-level design and integration
Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to operate independently in a field-based role
Hands-on technical mindset with strong debugging capability
Ability to bridge technical depth with customer business needs
Fluent in English (Written & Verbal: C1)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with RISC‑V ecosystem or CPU IP integration
Prior experience supporting automotive OEMs or Tier‑1 suppliers in Europe
Experience with custom silicon or SoC development flows
Understanding of functional safety standards or design requirements in A&D
