About the role
At Laerdal, our mission is helping save lives. SimCapture is a digital platform enabling simulation management, video capture, debriefing, and program management to improve training quality and support sustainable competency development across healthcare, education, public sector, emergency services, and military environments.
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for SimCapture is responsible for driving revenue, commercial success, and growth of the SimCapture portfolio in Germany and the wider DACH region.
This role combines full ownership of revenue generation and business development, a consultative, solution-oriented sales approach, and a strong understanding of simulation, digital learning processes, and clinical application areas.
The objective is not only to sell SimCapture, but to strategically position and establish it with customers to ensure long-term success and impact.
Key accountabilities include:
- Achieve annual sales and growth targets for the SimCapture portfolio
- Drive sustainable business development and pipeline growth across the territory
- Establish SimCapture as a strategic solution within key customer accounts
- Ensure disciplined commercial management, including pricing, discounting, and
forecasting
- Strengthen long-term customer relationships and maximize customer value
- Represent Laerdal and SimCapture effectively in the market and internally
Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Achieve annual revenue targets and develop the assigned region
- Identify and generate new business opportunities and build long-term customer
relationships
- Sell SimCapture subscription-based contracts (annual models)
- Develop and manage a strong sales funnel and pipeline
- Translate customer needs into value-based solutions and proposals
- Manage pricing and discounting in a disciplined and structured way
Solution & Portfolio Expertise
- Develop strong functional and technical expertise in the SimCapture product portfolio
- Clearly articulate customer value and integration into broader solutions
- Understand clinical scenarios and training requirements
- Operate within the context of healthcare simulation ecosystems
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain consultative relationships with new and existing customers
- Collaborate closely with Strategic Partners, Key Accounts, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure aligned, cross-functional teamwork to maximize customer value
Territory & Performance Management
- Manage the assigned territory and plan activities
- Use Salesforce CRM consistently for pipeline and forecasting
- Conduct monthly performance analysis
- Develop and execute action plans and manage budget
Market Presence & Internal Collaboration
- Represent Laerdal at events and congresses
- Support Simulation User Network activities
- Prepare and lead sales and team meetings
- Provide market and competitive feedback
What we are looking for
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in B2B sales or business development of solution-based offerings
- Proven track record in revenue or pipeline responsibility
- Strong understanding of consultative selling
- High affinity for technology
- CRM experience (ideally Salesforce)
- Strong customer and solution orientation
- Structured and self-driven working style
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Team-oriented mindset
