JOB PURPOSE
Support the development and administration of Air Freight Pricing plans, processes, programs and activities to deliver effective and efficient functional outcomes in line with business needs and objectives, relevant frameworks and standards, Group guidelines and policies, and applicable legal, regulatory and compliance requirements. This includes acting as an air freight pricing subject matter expert for complex RFQs, customer-specific pricing requirements and pricing-data quality, ensuring that pricing decisions are competitive, executable and aligned to margin protection.
KEY TASKS
- Lead complex RFQ and tender pricing input preparation for assigned customers, lanes, sectors or countries.
- Validate pricing logic against service level, commodity, route design, carrier assumptions, capacity risk, product requirements and approved margin guardrails.
- Maintain and improve customer-specific tariffs, internal rates, charge structures and pricing databases in approved systems.
- Support detailed guidance for high-priority RFQs and support launch calls where pricing assumptions, timelines and responsibilities must be clarified.
- Identify quote quality, market competitiveness, manual pricing patterns, margin leakage indicators, credit-note drivers and recurring rate defects.
- Coordinate with SCM, Gateways, Route Development and Product & Services to confirm that pricing is executable and aligned to product promise.
- Support Pricing Managers in preparing deviation recommendations, pricing governance materials and RFQ post-mortem analysis.
- Resolve complex pricing issues raised by Growth, station teams, Implementation, GSC, Operational Accounting or customer-facing teams.
- Support less experienced pricing colleagues on RFQ quality, rate maintenance, pricing tools and escalation judgment.
- Identify opportunities to improve pricing templates, automation readiness, QuoteShop adoption and rate-to-billing control.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and support business decisions.
- Experience in air freight pricing, logistics, and customer profitability analysis.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of air freight markets, pricing drivers, and business risks.
- Experience working with large datasets, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision making.
- Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to senior stakeholders and influence decision making.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships in a global environment.
- Experience working in a global matrix organization and multicultural environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and confident decision-maker with a results-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within international teams.
- Experience with process improvement, automation tools, and data quality initiatives.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and data analysis tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification and relevant professional experience.
