Role title: Manager – Accounts & Commercial (6–8 years in accounting plus commercial operations) ||
Location of the job: Lippstadt, Germany
Role is office-based in Lippstadt, not hybrid or heavily travel-based, so relocation and full-time presence there are essential.
Work Authorization:
- Candidate must already be based in Germany, ideally living there for 3–4+ years.
- Company can support work permit/sponsorship for candidates already in Germany, if needed.
Language requirement: Mandatory to have B2 level German language proficiency.
The role has two major components:
1. Core Accounting / Finance
- Manage day-to-day accounting for the German entity.
- Prepare monthly financial MIS and reports (incoming, outgoing, P&L-related).
- Ensure compliance with relevant German/EU accounting standards and internal policies.
2. Commercial & Warehouse Operations
- Oversee commercial operations of the Lippstadt warehouse.
- Manage import/export regulations for Europe, including:
- Customs and VAT
- Import/export documentation
- Compliance with European regulations
- Candidate needs both strong accounting fundamentals and commercial/warehouse/import–export exposure.
- There is a back-end linkage to India, so regular coordination with the India team is required.
Key responsibilities:
- · Manage periodic financial and management accounts preparation for subsidiary.
- · Prepare and analyze monthly MIS reports for submission to Regional and Global HQ.
- · Oversee audit and consolidation of the subsidiary’s accounts in coordination with internal
- and external auditors.
- · Ensure accurate month-end accounting provisions, reconciliations, and FOREX valuations.
- · Monitor sales forecasts, cost controls, and gross profit margins.
- · Liaise with HO and Regional Finance Teams on all accounting, tax, and compliance matters.
- · Review and approve corporate expenses, employee claims, and vendor payments.
- · Negotiate commercial contracts with suppliers, customers, and service providers to optimize terms and minimize risk.
- · Oversee invoicing, billing accuracy, and timely collection of receivables.
- · Improve accounting and documentation procedures to ensure compliance with the statutory and corporate requirements.
- · Ensure all balance sheet items, including cash and bank balances, are reconciled with
- supporting schedules.
- · Perform any ad hoc financial and operational duties assigned by management.
- · Coordinate with customs clearing agents to ensure timely and compliant import/export
- documentation and clearance.
- · Handle communication with freight forwarders, customs authorities, and logistics partners.
- · Manage order placement with factories, ensuring accuracy in quantities, specifications, and delivery schedules.
Education and Experience:
- · Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant
- experience in accounting and commercial Ops
- · Strong knowledge of UK / Germany accounting standards, VAT, and customs/import procedures.
- · Proven track record in order management, vendor coordination, and contract negotiation.
