The European Sleep Research Society (ESRS) e.V. and the Sleep Europe Foundation (SEF) work together to develop and establish an effective integrated fundraising strategy to support their respective goals.
The ESRS is the leading scientific and professional organization promoting sleep research and sleep medicine across Europe. ESRS brings together researchers, clinicians, national sleep societies, early-career professionals, educators, industry partners, policymakers, and other stakeholders committed to advancing sleep science and sleep health.
The Sleep Europe Foundation is a newly established initiative dedicated to advancing science, research, and public health in the field of sleep medicine. As the foundation continues to develop its structure, priorities, and activities, it aims to support research prizes, public health initiatives, and educational efforts in sleep research and sleep medicine, while also seeking active guidance and collaboration to help shape its future direction.
We are looking for an
Expert in sponsorship partnerships and fundraising
You are a proactive, strategically minded, and hands-on professional with a proven track record in sponsorship, partnerships and/or fundraising. The ideal candidate will combine strong communication skills with excellent judgement, diplomacy, ethical awareness, and the ability to work with senior academics, clinicians, industry partners, donors, foundations, and international stakeholders.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with the ESRS/SEF Board and Management, the role will include:
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring an integrated fundraising strategy (private donations, industry and corporate funding partnerships, foundations, academic funders, and major donors)
- Identifying new funding opportunities and developing innovative corporate social responsibility partnerships
- Building, maintaining, and expanding a network of donors, corporate partners, grant-making foundations, and funding providers
- Establishing and maintaining contacts with media, network partners, and institutions
- Conceptualizing and conducting fundraising campaigns
- Managing grants and donations and reporting to relevant stakeholders
- Knowing the financial and administrative framework governing a foundation under German law.
Your skills
- Master’s degree in fundraising, marketing, communication studies, non-profit management, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience with proven track record of successful fundraising and grant acquisition
- Understanding of non-profit organizations and the workings of scientific societies
- Project management and problem-solving experience
- Financial and administrative management skills
- Proficiency in English and German (C1/C2 level)
