JOB DESCRIPTION
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to senior stakeholders across JPMSE and the broader JPMC Group, while developing a strong understanding of capital management, regulatory capital requirements, risk governance and capital planning.
As an Analyst within the Capital Risk Management team, you will support the independent oversight of JPMSE's capital adequacy and capital management activities. Working closely with colleagues across Risk, Treasury and Finance, you will contribute to the monitoring and analysis of the firm's capital position, preparation of management reporting, governance materials, and assessment of regulatory developments. The role provides broad exposure to capital risk management and offers the opportunity to develop expertise in how banks assess, manage and govern capital resources while supporting business growth and meeting regulatory expectations. You will work alongside experienced professionals and gain insight into key capital-related decisions through participation in governance forums, capital planning activities and strategic risk discussions.
Job responsibilities
Support the monitoring of JPMSE's capital adequacy and regulatory capital position across key capital, leverage and risk-weighted asset metrics.
Assist in analysing capital trends, risk appetite metrics and emerging risks, helping to identify key drivers of capital consumption and changes in the risk profile.
Contribute to independent reviews of capital planning, forecasting, the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), stress testing and capital management activities under the guidance of senior team members.
Support assessments of the capital implications of regulatory developments, business initiatives, new products and strategic projects.
Prepare clear, accurate analysis and presentation materials for management committees, governance forums and regulatory engagements.
Collaborate with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Treasury and the Lines of Business while developing an understanding of the independent second-line risk management role.
Support improvements to capital risk reporting, governance processes and analytical tools.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Foundational understanding of banking, financial markets, risk management or regulatory capital concepts, with a strong interest in developing expertise in capital risk management.
Relevant internship or early-career experience in Risk Management, Capital Management, Treasury, Finance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with datasets, identify trends, assess key drivers and draw logical conclusions.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information in a concise and accessible manner.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Collaborative approach and willingness to build effective relationships across Risk, Finance, Treasury and business teams while maintaining objectivity.
Intellectual curiosity, initiative and a strong desire to learn and develop technical expertise.
