The IT Support Technician’s primary responsibilities include account lifecycle management, remote and in person troubleshooting, application deployment and support, password resets, and the loading and deployment of employee devices.
This role is based on-site at our Siegen location.
A key aspect of this role is also providing this support to other companies that are a part of Ascential Technologies T&M EMEA footprint as needed. As a result, local travel may be needed as a component of this role.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Tier 1 and 2 resource for supporting technical support requests. May provide escalation assistance to other System Support team members.
- For routine issues, utilize standard scripts, procedures, and documentation to provide quick resolution. For non-routine issues, utilize experience and knowledge to evaluate, test, and implement corrective actions.
- Configure and maintain employee devices, operating systems, and associated services per policies and standards.
- Monitor system performance alerts and notify appropriate IT resources when anomalies are found. Develop SOPs to monitor and handle these issues.
- Maintain familiarity with installed software standards and procedures and provide technical guidance to other staff.
- Design, develop, test, debug, install, implement, modify, and support new or existing applications and software in accordance with SOPs.
- Participate in Implementation/Deployment/Documentation projects.
- Create graphical training resources and related documentation for globally deployed platforms.
- Provide evening and weekend “on call” issue support as needed.
- Identify technical support trends which require immediate attention.
- Educate others in the methods to best utilize the network resources.
- Cross train with departmental personnel to provide necessary expertise.
- Assist in troubleshooting infrastructure issues as needed by broader T&M IT team.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in computer science or related field.
- 2 years of IT support experience.
- Experience with remote support tools and employee computer support.
- Fluent in German and English.
