As a Risk Advisor (f/m/d) within SCM Pooling Direct, you serve as the central expert and trusted partner for non-ferrous and precious metals (with a primary focus on Copper). You act as the vital bridge between physical procurement exposure and financial market action, ensuring that our margins are protected and commercial decisions are data-driven.
This role does not operate in isolation. It functions as a system integrator: translating physical volume data into hedge recommendations by applying internal and external market intelligence.

Market Intelligence Application: Using internal and external market intelligence to gain a coherent and profound market understanding and translating it into risk mitigation strategies and adjustments

Risk Consulting and Strategic Advisory: Advising product and project business, from the bidding to the project execution phase, on risk identification and mitigation. Developing and proposing hedging strategies (price, volume, tenor) and risk guardrails.

Decision Execution: Executing financial and physical hedging transactions across product and project businesses based on authorized strategies and specific mandates/orders from the Business.

Governance Excellence: Lead the standardization and continuous optimization of commodity hedging processes, ensuring full compliance with governance standards (e.g., IFRS, audit) while maintaining rigorous oversight of market developments, hedge positions, and performance.

Stakeholder Management: Managing diverse stakeholders to ensure integrated and consistent risk management. Lead or participate in international commodity projects.

Digital Transformation: Developing and maintaining automated risk dashboards and processes to provide transparent, real-time reporting to management and the Hedging Circle.

Education: A degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field, combined with a strong affinity for digital technologies and IT.

Experience & Skills:

Many years of experience in commodity risk management, treasury, or industrial brokerage, ideally within a large-scale corporate environment.

Deep, hands-on knowledge of commodity derivatives (futures, options, OTC instruments) and exchange mechanisms (LME, LBMA, COMEX).

Strong capability in risk modeling, scenario analysis, and quantitative data structuring to support complex commercial decisions.

Advanced skills in data visualization and analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, and financial terminals like Refinitiv or Bloomberg.

The ability to move from "independent decider" to "service provider," understanding that your role is to enable the Business to make informed decisions through expert guidance.

A proven ability to translate complex financial and commodity topics into clear, actionable recommendations for non-specialist audiences and senior management.
