IT System Administrator at our District Office (D.O) located in Mianz-Kastel (Germany) Full-Time

Job Description:
The system administrator will install and maintain personal computer hardware and software, servers and local area networks. Manages Client Server environment including virtual platforms (Hyper-V and VMware). Provides support to the user community and trouble-shoot problems to ensure maximum availability of personal computer systems and software. Develops procedures and compiles statistical data. Creates automated scripts for repetitive tasks.

Installs, configures and maintains Network Operating Systems on the bank’s production servers.

Installs, configures and customizes personal computer software, advising users of new features and capabilities.

Manages AD and our Server environment including the virtual environment.

Programs small solutions for repetitive or time-consuming tasks using scripts or programming languages.

Receives incoming User calls and opens trouble tickets in our ticketing software.

Troubleshoots hardware and software problems, involving vendors if necessary.

Provides users with assistance with a wide variety of software to ensure proper usage, good quality work and high productivity.

Provides effective “on the job” training to the users of personal computer hardware and software.

Analyzes user’s needs and requirements for personal computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment and makes purchase recommendations based on the analysis.

Works with outside vendors to ensure that physical and virtual networks and 3rd party software solutions are installed in accordance with specifications.

Stays up to date with personal computer hardware, software and networking technologies and helps develop future strategies covering the use of those technologies.

Education and Knowledge
-
Fachinformatiker or equivalent formal education or Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA, MCSE, MCITP) or comparative accreditation of work experience.

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience providing personal computers and local area network (LAN) support in a mid-size business. (2nd level support).

Working knowledge of Active Directory, TCP/IP and Cisco routers/switches.

Working knowledge of script programming.

Excellent knowledge of personal computer hardware and Windows operating system software.

Excellent knowledge of personal computer application software currently used by Community Bank (e.g., Microsoft Office, etc.)

Good knowledge of LAN topologies and cabling.
Skills

Ability to travel (25%).

Working knowledge of Avaya IP Office phone system administration.

Ability to analyze user requirements and develop and implement subsequent planned solutions.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to communicate in both English and German languages.

The ability to work and remain calm under stressful conditions.
