Role Summary
The SAP S/4HANA Finance Consultant will be responsible for the end‑to‑end rollout of a global SAP S/4HANA Finance template to Germany, ensuring full compliance with local statutory, legal, tax, and audit requirements. The role requires independent ownership of the Finance workstream, strong stakeholder management, and hands‑on configuration experience across SAP S/4HANA Finance modules.
Key Responsibilities
SAP S/4HANA Finance Rollout
- Lead the end‑to‑end Finance rollout from legacy SAP / local systems to a global SAP S/4HANA template for the Germany entity
- Own the Finance workstream across Explore, Realize, Deploy, and Hypercare phases
- Act as the primary point of contact for local German business stakeholders
Configuration & Solution Delivery
- Configure and support SAP S/4HANA Finance modules including:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Asset Accounting (AA)
- Cash Management and Bank Accounting
- Ensure alignment to global template standards while addressing local German requirements
Statutory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with German statutory accounting, VAT, local tax regulations, and audit requirements
- Support local reporting, statutory close, and legal documentation requirements
- Coordinate with tax, audit, and compliance stakeholders as required
Fit‑to‑Standard & Workshops
- Conduct Fit‑to‑Standard / Fit‑Gap workshops with business and global template teams
- Identify, document, and manage gaps, including localization needs and approved deviations
- Translate business requirements into SAP S/4HANA functional solutions
Testing, Cutover & Go‑Live
- Support and coordinate Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT for Finance processes
- Lead Finance‑related cutover activities, including data validation and reconciliation
- Provide go‑live and hypercare support, ensuring stabilization and issue resolution
Stakeholder & Governance Management
- Manage local business users, global template teams, and system integrators
- Ensure clear communication, issue tracking, and timely escalation of risks and dependencies
- Contribute to project governance, status reporting, and documentation
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of SAP Finance experience, with hands‑on SAP S/4HANA Finance implementations
- Strong functional expertise in GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and Cash Management
- Proven experience in country rollouts or global template deployments
- Strong knowledge of German statutory accounting, VAT, and legal requirements
- Experience conducting Fit‑to‑Standard / Fit‑Gap workshops
- Exposure to SAP Activate methodology
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working on Germany‑specific SAP S/4HANA rollouts
- Experience in RISE with SAP or S/4HANA Cloud / Private Cloud environments
- Exposure to integration with tax engines or external compliance tools
- SAP Finance certification (S/4HANA Finance preferred)
