Job Description:
As an Electrical Engineer – EU Customer Success , you will support the implementation of regional engineering designs for Fluence projects across Europe, with a focus on battery energy storage systems and renewable energy applications.
You will work within the EU Solutions Engineering team and collaborate closely with Principal and Senior Engineers, project teams, suppliers, contractors, and other internal stakeholders. The role requires solid experience in electrical design for utility-scale installations, including PV plants, battery energy storage systems, and high-voltage power systems.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to project delivery by developing technical documentation, reviewing supplier and contractor deliverables, supporting procurement engineering activities, and ensuring that engineering outputs meet project requirements, timelines, budgets, and safety expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and design electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams for battery energy storage systems across different voltage levels.
Develop and review technical specifications for electrical systems and equipment.
Support implementation of regional engineering designs in European projects.
Master Fluence product offerings and compare product features based on technical parameters, product capabilities, and European project requirements.
Assess technical trade-offs for implementation in engineering deliverables.
Perform quality control of specified engineering deliverables.
Work closely with Principal and Senior Engineers to provide deliverables across a variety of projects.
Develop electrical equipment specifications and support evaluations of inverters, switchgear, transformers, and other equipment as required.
Perform electrical design activities associated with project scope, timeline, and budget.
Perform technical review and sign-off of documentation provided by suppliers or contractors.
Support procurement engineering activities, including RFIs, technical queries, and technical bid evaluations.
Use Agile methodologies, Scrum workflows, and JIRA ticketing systems to perform daily work and coordinate with team members.
Execute tasks related to Fluence safety KPIs.
Travel throughout Europe as required.
Key Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the design of power systems for utility-scale installations, PV plants, and/or battery energy storage systems in the European region.
Solid experience in electrical system design, system studies, relay coordination, protection and control, grounding practices, and HV/MV/LV design and studies.
Solid experience in engineering, procurement, and construction for high-voltage systems, wind, solar, or conventional power generation.
Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulations used in Europe.
Experience in procurement engineering, including RFIs, technical queries, and technical bid evaluation.
Proficiency in German and English, minimum C1 level.
Strong communication skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
