About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented German Translator to assist with the translation of official correspondence and documents related to tax refund matters. The role primarily involves translating documents between German and English and supporting communication with German tax authorities.
This is a flexible freelance or part-time opportunity, ideal for someone with strong written translation skills and familiarity with business or tax-related terminology.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate official documents, letters, and forms between German and English.
- Review translations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate legal/business terminology.
- Assist in drafting or translating email correspondence with German tax authorities and external advisors.
- Support the team in understanding German-language tax and administrative documents.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive company information.
Requirements
- Native or near-native proficiency in German and English (written and spoken).
- Proven experience in translation, preferably involving legal, finance, tax, or corporate documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines.
- Previous experience with German tax or government correspondence is an advantage but not required.
