As a trusted business partner, we help corporations, public sector organizations, and services and software providers achieve operational excellence and business growth through digital transformation, market intelligence, and industry best practices. Our services encompass research, benchmarking, consulting, and managed services, providing unparalleled insights into the evolving technology landscape. We partner with our clients to determine a future vision, lead rapid change and realize the value of their digital investments at scale. We’re more than consultants: We help our clients achieve operational excellence and faster growth.
We are looking for an experienced management consultant with profound expertise in infrastructure and cloud – spanning public, private, and hybrid cloud architectures, modern datacenter services, and emerging models such as edge computing. You will advise clients on how to architect, source, transform, and optimize their infrastructure and cloud ecosystems, helping them improve performance, resilience, cost efficiency, and agility.
In this senior role, you will lead client-facing workstreams, shape cloud and infrastructure sourcing strategies end-to-end, run complex tenders, manage vendor evaluations, and guide clients through commercial and technical decision-making. You will also mentor junior team members and contribute to thought leadership in the DACH region.
If you combine consulting discipline with technical depth in infrastructure and cloud, and want to shape high-impact transformation programs, this role offers autonomy, visibility, and a clear progression path within ISG.
Lead cloud and infrastructure–focused sourcing and transformation workstreams across public cloud, private cloud, hybrid architectures, datacenter services, network transformation, and edge deployments.
Develop cloud and infrastructure sourcing strategies, business cases, technical/functional requirements, and commercial models.
Manage end-to-end RfX processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ), vendor assessments, solution comparisons, and contract/price negotiations.
Assess providers’ cloud/infrastructure capabilities, operating models, and service architectures using ISG benchmarks, data, and AI-supported insights.
Help clients define future-state cloud and infrastructure operating models, including governance, service integration, and transition planning.
Facilitate workshops on cloud strategy, infrastructure modernization, edge adoption, and service design for senior stakeholders.
Collaborate with international teams across consulting, research, benchmarking, and managed services.
5–8 years of experience in technology consulting, infrastructure/cloud strategy, IT sourcing, vendor management, or adjacent fields.
Strong understanding of infrastructure architectures, cloud models (public/hybrid/private), datacenter services, network services, and edge computing.
Ability to translate complex technical topics (architecture, security, operating models, migration approaches) into actionable business decisions.
Competitive compensation, flexible time-off models, and a supportive, inclusive culture.
The duties and responsibilities described in this position description may not be a comprehensive list. Additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time and/or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.
