Your Thesis Topic
We are looking for a motivated Master’s student to support the product design, naming, positioning, and market launch strategy of a new industrial CT platform. The role is positioned at the intersection of technology, product strategy, branding, and marketing, and offers insight into how complex industrial systems are developed and brought to market at both local and global levels. The project scope can be adapted to fulfill the requirements of a mandatory internship (Pflichtpraktikum) or developed into a Master’s thesis, in alignment with university regulations.
Your Tasks
- Conduct structured academic literature research on B2B branding, product strategy, and marketing of industrial X-ray and CT inspection systems.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and positioning strategies of laboratory-scale and compact industrial CT systems.
- Identify and systematically characterize target customer segments and inspection use cases across various business segments.
- Systematically translate technical CT parameters (e.g. voltage class, focus type, resolution, scan modes) into customer-relevant value propositions using established marketing and innovation frameworks.
- Develop a research-based branding, positioning, and naming strategy for the laboratory CT platform, grounded in market and competitor analysis.
- Conceptualize market launch and go-to-market strategies, including pricing logic, communication milestones, and launch sequencing from a market-facing perspective.
- Design conceptual marketing assets to support the launch strategy, such as product leaflet structures, key presentation messages, and website content outlines.
- Contribute to high-level visual and design concepts for the CT system (e.g. labeling, color schemes, and visual identity guidelines) in alignment with the branding strategy.
- Support the conceptual planning of trade fair appearances, including booth messaging, demo storytelling, and presentation narratives for industrial CT applications.
- Prepare a scientifically structured document, combining theoretical foundations, methodological approach, and an applied case study of an industrial CT system market launch.
Your Profile
- Enrolled in a Master’s program in Creative Communication & Brand Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Industrial Management, Innovation Management, or a related field at a German or European university
- Strong interest in B2B marketing, industrial products, and complex technical systems • Ability to translate technical input from engineers into clear, market-oriented language and concepts
- Basic knowledge of tools like Canva, Figma, or Adobe InDesign for concept visualization.
- Basic experience with market analysis and strategy frameworks (e.g. SWOT, STP, Value Proposition Canvas, Porter’s Five Forces).
- Creative mindset combined with a structured, analytical working style
- Structured, independent working style with interest in applied industrial research
- Proficient German and English language skills are required.
