Position Overview
Due to continued business growth, we are recruiting a Geospatial Engineering Lead to join our Special Projects Department on a permanent basis in Dresden, Germany.
Reporting to the Geospatial Manager, the role will lead the delivery of Geospatial Engineering and Surveying services on a multi-year, high-profile semiconductor construction project, coordinating client requirements, resources and survey teams to deliver accurate, efficient and innovative geospatial solutions.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the delivery of Geospatial Engineering and Surveying works for a key client on a large-scale semiconductor construction project.
- Liaise directly with client representatives to understand, coordinate and manage survey requirements from initial request through to final delivery.
- Determine the most appropriate technical approach and methodology to achieve the required project outcomes.
- Plan and coordinate both field and office-based activities to ensure efficient and timely delivery of survey requests.
- Lead surveyors and survey teams through the planning, execution and completion of individual tasks.
- Process survey data and provide technical guidance and oversight during the processing, checking and delivery of survey data.
- Accurately log, track and monitor all survey requests, ensuring progress and completion are clearly recorded.
- Ensure all survey data is appropriately named, filed and stored in accordance with departmental and project requirements.
- Work closely with the Geospatial Manager to plan and coordinate resources, equipment and personnel to meet project requirements.
- Provide accurate estimates for task durations, resource requirements and anticipated completion dates.
- Work with the Geospatial Survey Lead to ensure that adequate and appropriate survey control is established and available prior to commencing works.
- Identify and proactively address potential blockers to task execution, including health and safety, access, coordination, technical and resource constraints.
- Monitor progress and communicate any risks, delays or changes to scope to the appropriate project stakeholders.
- Support the Geospatial Manager and Department Leads with site and office-based activities as required.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of project workflows, processes and delivery standards.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required in accordance with the scope and requirements of the project.
What You Will Bring
- Relevant qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, BIM, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' relevant surveying experience within the construction industry.
- Proven experience working on large-scale construction projects is essential.
- Strong understanding of the principles, practices and applications of surveying and geospatial engineering.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other relevant CAD packages.
- Knowledge and practical understanding of survey network adjustments; experience with MicroSurvey STAR*NET would be desirable.
- Demonstrable ability to plan, coordinate and manage multiple survey activities and priorities.
- Rigorous attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Possess a full clean German / International Drivers’ licence.
- Legally entitled to work in Germany.
