What do you contribute?
In this role, you will strengthen the commercial protection of our international rail electrification projects by developing and implementing practical standards, methodologies, and tools for our project organization.
- You develop and establish a scalable framework that enables project teams to effectively identify, assess, manage, and enforce contractual risks, opportunities, changes, and claims throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- In addition, you design training programs, facilitate knowledge sharing through lessons learned, and drive the adoption of digital and AI-enabled ways of working to support the sustainable development of the organization.
- Furthermore, you take on a central role in safeguarding commercial interests in strategically important projects. You create transparency regarding risks and opportunities, protect contractual positions, and enable the early management of financial impacts arising from changes and deviations.
- To achieve this, you ensure rigorous management of contractual deadlines and supporting records, establish robust documentation practices, and thereby create a solid foundation for sound commercial decision-making.
- You assess the financial impacts of schedule extensions, delays, disruptions, and productivity losses.
- You work closely with Project Management, Commercial Project Management (CPM), Bid Management, Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Legal, while establishing clear interfaces and providing a sound basis for decision-making.
What do you bring along?
- You hold a university degree in Law, Business Law, Business Administration, Commercial Engineering, Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
- Additional qualifications in commercial project management, construction contract law, or international project business are an advantage.
- You bring extensive experience in complex international EPC projects or infrastructure projects and have independently prepared, negotiated, defended, or resolved significant commercial claims and counterclaims.
- In addition, you also have experience in establishing or advancing standards, processes, templates, or training programs for international project organizations and combine strong conceptual capabilities with a pragmatic approach to execution in ongoing projects.
- You possess in-depth knowledge of international contract models and standards (e.g. FIDIC, NEC and EPC contracts) and are familiar with liability regimes, liquidated damages, force majeure, common law and civil law principles, as well as formal dispute resolution procedures.
- You are experienced in established methods for the assessment of schedule extensions, delays, disruptions, and productivity losses (e.g. As-Planned vs. As-Built, Time Impact Analysis, Windows Analysis or Critical Path Method) and are proficient in recognized approaches for quantifying their financial impact.
- You combine entrepreneurial thinking with sound commercial judgment, are able to present complex matters to different stakeholders in a clear and audience-appropriate manner, maintain a strong position under pressure, and successfully drive change through excellent communication skills.
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Additional language skills and international project experience across different legal jurisdictions are a plus.
