Daisytuner is building the software layer for the next generation of computing. We make complex software run efficiently on any processor—from CPUs and GPUs to novel accelerators—using a self-learning compiler and cloud-scale optimization infrastructure.
Our team brings together researchers and engineers from RWTH Aachen, TU Munich, TU Darmstadt, and ETH Zurich to tackle some of the hardest problems in systems and infrastructure software. If you want to work on deeply technical challenges with real-world impact, join us and help shape the future of compute.
We are building a compiler that automatically analyzes, transforms, parallelizes, and offloads applications across CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, AI accelerators, and emerging hardware architectures. Our technology combines advanced program analysis, graph-based intermediate representations, performance modeling, and machine learning to continuously improve how software is mapped to hardware.
As a Compiler Engineer, you will work on the core optimization and transformation infrastructure of our compiler. You will design analyses, implement compiler passes, improve optimization pipelines, and help shape the architecture of a system that targets a rapidly evolving ecosystem of heterogeneous processors.
What you will be doing
- Design and implement compiler analyses and optimization passes
- Improve the scalability, correctness, and performance of our optimization infrastructure
- Work on intermediate representations, dependence analyses, cost models, and transformation frameworks
- Develop algorithms that automatically identify, transform, parallelize, and offload program regions
- Build infrastructure for pass management, analysis preservation, and compiler scalability
- Evaluate and improve optimization decisions using large-scale benchmarking data
- Collaborate with hardware vendors and integrate support for emerging accelerator architectures
- Work closely with researchers and engineers to turn compiler research into production technology
What you are bringing
- Proven experience in compiler development, optimization frameworks, or systems software engineering
- Strong understanding of compiler internals and optimization techniques
- Experience implementing compiler analyses, transformations, or optimization passes
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and computational complexity
- Ability to reason about scalability and performance of compiler algorithms on large code bases
- Strong programming skills in C++ and modern software engineering practices
- Experience working with large and complex software systems
- Experience contributing to compiler infrastructures, optimization frameworks, static analysis tools, or similarly complex systems software
What we offer
- A small, highly technical team with direct impact on core technology
- Competitive compensation and potential equity participation
- The opportunity to work on cutting-edge compiler technology targeting the next generation of hardware
- Real ownership over compiler architecture and technical direction
- The chance to solve fundamental problems in optimization, automatic parallelization, and heterogeneous computing
