In this role, the European Inside Sales Team Leader will be responsible for driving lead generation and opportunity creation activities across all Biopharma product portfolios and Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) within Nova’s addressable market in order to build the pipeline of instrument and service contract leads and opportunities needed for the European sales team to exceed their sales targets.
To achieve this objective, the candidate will build, train, lead, and manage a high-performing team of Scientific Inside Sales Representatives who will drive lead generation and opportunity creation activities while also supporting the Account Managers in successfully progressing opportunities from initial engagement through purchase order.
If you’re passionate about leading high performing teams and want to be part of a team that is shaping the future of life sciences, we’d love to hear from you, apply today!
What you’ll do
Team Leadership & Commercial Excellence
The European Inside Sales Team Leader will ensure that the Inside Sales team uses the right customer acquisition platforms and is fully trained on how to use them effectively. The candidate will establish a strong culture of commercial excellence, accountability, customer engagement, and data-driven execution across the organization.
This leader will work in close collaboration with the Sales, Marketing, Applications, and Product Management teams to approach key buyer personas involved in the purchasing process with the right pitch and value proposition, enabling the team to generate qualified sales opportunities, book customer meetings, and contribute directly to revenue growth.
The role also includes driving the consistent execution and adoption of the commercial and editorial strategy across the Inside Sales organization, ensuring that all team members actively contribute to customer engagement, relationship development, thought leadership activities, pipeline generation, and strategic account development within their respective territories.
Database Strategy, Market Intelligence & Installed Base Expansion
The candidate will create, update, and maintain the most complete and comprehensive prospecting database, including all Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) within Nova’s addressable market (both existing/active customers and prospects).
This prospecting database should include all relevant Biopharma, CDMO, Biotech, Academic, and related accounts by country, including their sites, departments, laboratories, and every key buyer persona involved in the purchasing process for Nova’s Bioprocess solutions, including lab users, lab directors, procurement teams, service & repair teams, IT, regulatory affairs, and executive leadership.
Part of this database creation and maintenance effort should involve “hunting within the installed base and filling the white spaces” by conducting a highly detailed inventory of all companies and laboratories where Nova has at least one active instrument installed. The objective is to identify cross-selling opportunities and ensure that every laboratory within every company is equipped with the full Nova portfolio where relevant, and that each instrument is associated with a service contract and an appropriate level of consumables.
Multi-Channel Commercial & Editorial Strategy
In close collaboration with the Sales, Marketing, Applications, and Product Management teams, the candidate will define and deploy a structured multi-channel, multi-touchpoint editorial and communication strategy supporting both inbound and outbound commercial initiatives across Europe.
This strategy will leverage LinkedIn, cold and warm calling, cold and warm email campaigns, newsletters, webinars, digital marketing activities, and other relevant communication, engagement, and customer acquisition channels to increase Nova’s visibility, strengthen engagement with customers and prospects, and generate highly qualified sales opportunities.
The European Inside Sales Team Leader will identify the most relevant customer segments, buyer personas, strategic themes, customer pain points, and growth objectives around which the team should consistently communicate. The objective is to progressively build large and highly engaged communities of customers, prospects, KOLs, and industry stakeholders across LinkedIn and other relevant digital platforms, positioning Nova and the Inside Sales organization as trusted industry experts and valuable business partners.
Social Selling, Content Development & Customer Engagement
The role also includes developing and publishing high-value educational, scientific, technical, and business-oriented content written with a credible expert voice and strong copywriting standards, designed to drive visibility, engagement, discussions, and relationship building with key accounts and decision-makers.
Through consistent social selling activities, content sharing, audience engagement, and interactions with customers’ and prospects’ content, the Inside Sales team will be expected to convert digital engagement into qualified sales opportunities, discovery conversations, customer meetings, and ultimately new business growth.
