The position is located in the Theoretical Physics group at Bielefeld University. The successful candidate will conduct research in the Emmy Noether junior group of Dr. Adrien Florio in support to the Collaborative Research Center CRC-TRR 211 “Strong Interaction Matter Under Extreme Conditions”. The inspiring environment and the broad scientific network of the CRC (Bielefeld and partner universities in Frankfurt am Main and Darmstadt) offer solid training and regular workshops on topics such as lattice QCD, quantum field theory or software development and high-performance computing.
The focus of the project will be on applying quantum-information inspired method to the study of phase transition. Duties will also include co-supervision of Bachelor, Master and PhD students, as well as moderate participation in teaching. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated scientist who will actively contribute to the scientific progress and management of the group and its activities in collaboration with other members.
Your Tasks
- perform research on the above-mentioned topics, publish their results in scientific journals and present at workshops/ conferences (approx. 78 %)
- teaching of tutorials/ courses and supervision of Bachelor and Master students (arpprox. 22 % / 3LVS)

- completed relevant scientific university degree (master or equivalent) in Physics
- PhD in related field of research
