About the Role (24h-32h):
As a Financial Administrator within Sunrock’s finance department, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions and project administration for our solar parks in Germany. You will support the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, payments, VAT administration, and project-related financial activities. With your strong attention to detail and knowledge of German financial and tax requirements, you will help maintain compliance, support efficient processes, and contribute to the continued growth of Sunrock’s German business. Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will collaborate closely with both operational and finance colleagues to ensure smooth and reliable financial administration.
Position:
The Financial Administrator is based in Düsseldorf and serves as an important link between the German business and Sunrock’s central Finance organization in the Netherlands. The role reports directly to the Finance Operations lead in the Netherlands and works closely with local business stakeholders and finance colleagues in Germany such as the BU manager, controller, GL accountant and workstudent. As part of the central finance team, you will collaborate on a daily basis with colleagues across Accounting, Controlling, Tax, and Treasury. This unique position combines local ownership and visibility within the German organization with the expertise, support, and development opportunities of an international finance team.
Your responsibilities:

Manage the administration's email inboxes and post mail

Process incoming and outgoing payments and maintain accurate financial records

Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring proper 2-way or 3-way matching

Prepare, issue, and process customer invoices, including self-billing invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery

Verify VAT treatment on invoices in accordance with Local VAT regulations

Monitor outstanding payables, maintain vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies promptly

Monitor outstanding receivables, perform dunning activities, and follow up with customers on overdue balances

Classify expenses accurately by assigning the correct cost center and project code, liasing with project and asset managers as needed

Support monthly and annual financial closings and assist with external audits

Collaborate on process optimization and participate in ad-hoc financial projects

Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement within Finance Operations team

Prepare, maintain and keep work instructions and SOPs up to date
Requirements

Minimum 6 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a related field

Educational background in financial administration, accounting, finance, or similar

Proficiency in financial software (Oracle NetSuite is a plus) and OCR tools

Knowledge of German VAT regulations

Highly accurate and detail-oriented, with a keen ability to introduce structure and efficiency within a scale-up environment

Team player who thrives in a flat, collaborative organization

Proactive and confident in proposing new ideas, with a strong interest in process automation and a continuous desire to learn and improve

Strong communication skills; proficiency in German and English are required
