Purpose of the Job
Plan and implement sales to specific, existing major accounts where growing relationships, identifying opportunities, and utilizing account management skills are critical. Accounts frequently have multiple buying locations (internationally in the case of global strategic accounts), making the process of establishing and maintaining broad client relationships essential. The role requires full knowledge of the product line and its applications, along with a strong understanding of the client's objectives and challenges.
Role Summary:
As Country Sales Manager (m/w/d), you act as the primary business partner for National Sales Companies, steering wholesale and retail performance, profitability, and market execution. Through close collaboration with markets, Global HQ, and internal stakeholders, you ensure the successful delivery of business plans while identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.
We want you to:
Act as the primary point of contact between Hyundai Motor Europe and assigned National Sales Companies for all sales-related topics
Support and challenge markets to achieve agreed Wholesale Sales (WS), Retail Sales (RS), and Profit & Loss (P&L) targets
Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify growth opportunities and develop action plans together with local markets
Monitor production orders, shipments, inventory, sales performance, CO₂ targets, and market developments to proactively identify risks and opportunities
Analyze market performance against business plans and recommend corrective actions to maximize commercial success
Support markets in developing mid- and long-term business plans based on market potential, product strategy, and competitive developments
Monitor profitability by model and overall business performance, identifying opportunities to optimize financial results
Build strong relationships with National Sales Companies, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic business partner
Collaborate closely with Global HQ, manufacturing plants, and cross-functional teams to optimize sales operations and business execution
Prepare regular and ad hoc management reports, providing senior leadership with clear insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
About you:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
7–10 years of professional experience in Sales, Commercial Operations, or Business Management, including at least 3 years in an automotive sales function as a Country Sales Manager or in a comparable senior sales support role
Strong understanding of the automotive business model, sales operations, and dealer network management
Proven experience managing commercial performance, business planning, and P&L optimization across international markets
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business data into actionable recommendations
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills with experience influencing cross-functional and international teams
Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and large audiences
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Tableau and SAP is highly desirable
Results-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment with a strong customer focus
Fluent in English; additional European languages are highly advantageous
