Senior Application Engineer Automotive (m/f/d) - SKF Automotive Business
Rolling Bearing Solutions for the Mobility of Tomorrow

As an Application Engineer at Vertevo, you will play a key role in developing innovative rolling bearing solutions for next-generation powertrain and chassis applications.

Key responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical consulting and support to national and international automotive OEMs and Tiers as part of the frontline team
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and targeted development of Application Engineers to strengthen competencies, knowledge sharing, and best-practices
- Design, calculate, and develop customer-specific rolling bearing solutions for modern powertrain and chassis applications
- Analyse customer requirements and prepare corresponding technical product specifications
- Coordinate design and product validation activities as well as customer approval processes throughout the series development phase
- Analyse and evaluate development components from validation testing and field operation
- Provide technical support during serial production, including the evaluation and approval of engineering changes
- Conduct value analyses and related optimization activities to improve cost efficiency and product performance throughout the entire product lifecycle
- Identify innovation opportunities through market, customer, and technology trend analyses and support the development of new business opportunities
- Collaborate closely with Sales, R&D, Manufacturing, Testing, and Quality departments
- Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with customers
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable field
- Deep expertise in rolling bearing technology and its application in automotive series production programs
- Several years of professional experience in Application Engineering, Product Development, or technical customer support within the automotive industry
- Proven experience in the design, application, and validation of technical components for powertrain and/or chassis systems
- Strong understanding of product development and quality processes within the automotive industry
- Structured and analytical approach to solving complex technical challenges
- Extensive experience in technical discussions and collaboration with OEM and Tier customers
- Experience in project management and working within international and cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels
- Experience in technical leadership, coaching, or mentoring, with a passion for developing people and teams
- High level of initiative, decision-making capability, and personal accountability
- Fluent English skills, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
