Job Summary
As an Electrical & Automation Engineer, you will help design, develop, and commission the electrical and automation systems used in advanced laser manufacturing equipment. You will work across electrical design, Beckhoff PLC programming, testing, troubleshooting, and equipment integration, while supporting the transfer and ongoing operation of production systems at international manufacturing sites.
Your Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement electrical, electronic, and automation solutions for advanced production equipment and manufacturing systems

Program, commission, test, and optimize PLC-based automation systems (Beckhoff) as well as electrical hardware and software components

Develop electrical and electronic designs, including circuit concepts, electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and documentation for production, measurement, and automation systems

Create and maintain technical documentation for electrical and mechatronic systems, including cooling water, pneumatic, and vacuum systems

Develop test software and support the integration, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of production equipment

Provide technical support for production equipment at international manufacturing sites and collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams
Qualifications

Bachelors or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical qualification

Experience in electrical engineering, industrial automation, machine development, or special-purpose machinery

Experience is flexible. We welcome applications from recent graduates through to experienced engineers.
Additional Skills & Requirements

Knowledge of PLC programming, ideally using Beckhoff and TwinCAT

Understanding of electrical control systems, electronics, and electrical design and documentation

Experience with electrical schematics and engineering tools such as EPLAN

Hands-on experience with the commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, or optimisation of automated equipment

Familiarity with mechatronic systems and supporting technologies such as pneumatics, vacuum systems, or cooling systems would be beneficial

Programming experience for equipment testing, control, or automation would be advantageous
-
Working proficiency in English; German language skills are beneficial but not essential
