We are looking for a Product Data Engineer to join our Digital Products team in Berlin. At the intersection of product management, engineering, and data analytics, you will be responsible for our entire product data ecosystem-from tracking and modeling to decision-relevant datasets. You will serve as a key interface, translating business challenges into scalable, reliable data solutions.
Product Data Foundation
- Define measurement concepts, tracking standards, and technical data models for central product and business units.
- Translate product goals and business questions into scalable data solutions, metrics, and datasets.
- Ensure that product data is consistently collected, documented, and understood across the organization.
Data Services & Infrastructure
- Build and operate data pipelines, transformations, and data services using technologies such as dbt, SQL, Python, and BigQuery.
- Develop solutions that connect product, analytics, and business systems, making data available where it creates value.
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and data quality throughout the entire product data lifecycle through monitoring, testing, and automation.
Product Enablement & Business Partnership
- Act as an embedded data partner for product teams and a link between product, engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders.
- Support data-driven decisions through trusted metrics, self-service data offerings, and reporting solutions.
- Develop solutions that provide measurable business value.
- Solid Education & Experience: A degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics, or a related field, along with relevant professional experience in data or analytics engineering.
- Technical Stack & Pipelines: Proficient in SQL, Python, and dbt for developing scalable data pipelines and transformation processes-ideally within the Google Cloud environment (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM).
- Data Modeling & Self-Service: Expertise in designing reusable data models and semantic layers to enable efficient self-service analytics for stakeholders.
- Product & Tracking Understanding: Deep understanding of event-based tracking, product analytics, and measurement concepts for managing digital products.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent ability to translate complex requirements into understandable data solutions and work effectively with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Business).Good communication skills in English and German (at least level B).
