We are expanding into Hamburg following the success of our award-winning Berlin tours, beginning with our **Historic Pubs of Hamburg** experience.
Our goal is to showcase Hamburg through the places, people, stories, food, and drinks that have shaped the city. Rather than simply visiting the major tourist sights, our tours focus on the character of the city — its historic neighborhoods, legendary pubs, local traditions, maritime heritage, and the stories behind the places visitors might otherwise walk straight past.
We work closely with Hamburg-based guides and independent local businesses to create memorable experiences for international visitors and locals alike.
As we grow our Hamburg operation, there will be opportunities to become involved in additional experiences, including private tours, history tours, food and drink experiences, and other specialized Hamburg products.

Role Description
We are looking for knowledgeable, engaging, and personable Tour Guides to join our expansion into Hamburg and lead our Historic Pubs of Hamburg tour.
This is an on-site, part-time role ideal for someone who loves Hamburg, enjoys meeting people from around the world, and can bring history to life through storytelling.
You don't need to be a professional historian. However a very good understanding of the citys and countries history in important. What also matters is your ability to tell great stories, connect with guests, and make Hamburg's history interesting, entertaining, and accessible.
Our tours are designed to go beyond simply listing dates and facts. We want our guides to explain why places matter, who lived and worked there, what happened there, and how Hamburg developed into the city it is today.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Historic Pubs of Hamburg tour for small groups and private groups
* Share stories about Hamburg's history, culture, neighborhoods, beer, pubs, and local traditions
* Bring historical events and characters to life through engaging storytelling
* Introduce guests to historic and independent pubs and explain their significance
* Create a welcoming and memorable experience for international visitors
* Adapt your storytelling to different groups, ages, interests, and levels of historical knowledge
* Answer questions and encourage conversation and discussion
* Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with our partner pubs and businesses
* Ensure tours run smoothly and according to schedule
* Represent Europe Retold Tours professionally
* Work collaboratively with other guides and members of the Europe Retold team
* Support private and customized tour bookings as the Hamburg operation expands
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of Hamburg's history, culture, and neighborhoods
* Excellent communication and storytelling skills
* Comfortable speaking to groups
* Friendly, outgoing, and confident personality
* Genuine enthusiasm for Hamburg and its history
* Excellent customer-service skills
* Comfortable speaking with international visitors
* Reliable and professional
* Able to work independently while also being part of a team
* Previous guiding, tourism, hospitality, or customer-service experience is a plus
* Knowledge of Hamburg's pub, beer, and local drinking culture is a plus
* English fluency is required; additional languages are welcome
* German is an advantage but not essential for the right candidate
Most importantly, you should enjoy history and the culture of the city, telling stories and talking to people.
