The MITRE EUCOM and AFRICOM Regional Operations Department (N551) is seeking energetic and talented professionals to join our team working across our sponsors in Europe, Africa, and the US to tackle complex problems. We work to solve the most challenging international security problems across Europe and Africa by strategically partnering with the Department of War to apply advanced capabilities and technology to real world operational needs in the near term and strategically positioning to address longer term critical challenges.
Roles & Responsibilities:
You will be part of a MITRE team working directly with US Africa Command to plan and integrate cutting edge technology and technical capabilities to advance and optimize operational priorities on and off continent.
Domain / Technical competence
Demonstrate strong familiarity and skill in one or more of the following areas:
- Lead the design and integration of enterprise communications, mission system architectures, and enterprise services across military organizations to support mission requirements.

Apply technical expertise in network architectures, identity management, enterprise networking, and distributed/edge architectures to develop and sustain secure, scalable solutions.

Assess current operational capabilities and scheduled enterprise service offerings, identify shortfalls that could result in mission impact or degradation, and recommend solutions to mitigate risks.

Provide systems engineering analysis for systems and capabilities related to planning, integration, mission analysis, requirements analysis, command and control requirements, and operational dependencies.

Implement enterprise communications solutions, apply cyber defense principles, and enhance mission architectures to improve resilience, security, and operational effectiveness.

Senior Sponsor Experience

Comfortably and respectfully engage with both US and foreign nations’ senior military leaders and engineers as well as industry leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a Master’s degree; or 3 years with a PhD; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, such as Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Computer), Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields
-
Significant experience with implementation of enterprise communications solutions, cyber defense principles, and mission architectures.
-
Experience providing systems engineering analysis for systems and capabilities in areas such as (but not limited to) planning, integration, mission analysis, requirements analysis, command and control requirements, and dependencies.

Ability to partner closely with non-MITRE developers, SETA teammates, and acquisition representatives

Ability to identify operational and engineering challenges, potential solutions, and communicate project goals and impacts clearly and effectively.
- Demonstrated previous team leadership experience

Prior experience with US Department of War systems of systems integration

Active DoW Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access

Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements for a clearance, U.S. Citizenship is required.

This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field (e.g. enterprise communications, network architectures)

Experience in Combatant Command operations and the joint warfighter environment

Experience with Combatant Command capability development and/or operations

Five years’ experience in Command and Control processes, architectures, and systems.

Familiarity with CCMD Mission Systems

Effective and influential oral communications skills

Strong written communications skills

Active TS/SCI security clearance

NATO Secret clearance
