The Fraunhofer Institute for Materials and Beam Technology IWS in Dresden develops complex system solutions in laser and materials technology. We are seeking a dedicated employee to join our Particle Technology Department in the Dry Coating Methodology Development Research Group as soon as possible.
Be part of change
- You will be responsible for the scientific planning, execution, and management of public and industry-related projects in the field of dry coating
- You will be responsible for coating systems and their further development, as well as for complex projects, and will actively contribute to their successful implementation
- You will independently conduct experiments in the field of materials and process development
- Developing methodologies for characterizing mixtures and powders is also part of your responsibilities
- Recording all relevant project data and documentation, monitoring and overseeing project progress, managing projects, and communicating with clients are also part of your scope of work
What you contribute
- A completed university degree in the natural sciences, engineering (with a focus on materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or process engineering), or comparable fields of study relevant to the job posting
- Excellent knowledge in the field of battery electrode manufacturing; knowledge of solvent-free electrode manufacturing is a plus
- Excellent knowledge of the properties of electrodes for solid-state batteries, lithium-ion batteries, and other next-generation batteries
- Experience handling hazardous materials
- Previous experience in powder characterization and particle technology
- Several years of experience managing and coordinating research projects
- Excellent communication skills to successfully manage projects and supervise technical staff and support personnel
- Excellent command of German and English
- Proficiency with MS Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
- A hands-on approach and outstanding commitment to project management
- A high degree of independence, a structured, reliable, and solution-oriented work style, as well as interdisciplinary, analytical thinking combined with initiative and dedication
- Open-minded, creative, and cooperative teamwork skills

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
