The Opportunity
As a Senior AI/ML Engineer, you will work at the intersection of foundation models and robotics, developing systems that combine vision, language, and action for embodied intelligence. This is a role for someone who has already pushed the frontier somewhere, in research, in a top industry lab, or both, and wants to bring that caliber of thinking to robots operating in the real world.
You'll help bridge cutting-edge AI research with real-world robotic applications, ensuring that large-scale models can operate reliably in physical environments. This role sits at the core of building robots that can perceive, reason, and act intelligently in dynamic settings, and it comes with real ownership over technical direction.
Your Responsibilities
-
Design and train foundation models that integrate vision, language, and actions for embodied intelligence
-
Adapt LLMs and VLMs for robotic control, planning, and interactive behavior, enabling context-aware decision making
-
Develop AI-driven control policies for manipulation, grasping, and motion planning using reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and foundation model approaches
-
Build modular, scalable, and high-performance data processing, training, and inference pipelines for large-scale datasets
-
Design reproducible workflows for training, evaluation, and deployment, including benchmarking for generalization, safety, and task success
-
Push the state of the art and bring it into production — this includes staying current with (and ideally contributing to) the research literature, and translating advances into systems that actually ship
Technologies
-
Python, C++
-
PyTorch (or TensorFlow / JAX)
-
Transformer-based models (LLMs, VLMs, multimodal architectures)
-
Distributed training frameworks
-
Linux, Docker (Kubernetes nice to have)
-
ML pipelines and model deployment systems
Requirements
Must Have
-
Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, AI, or a related field, with 5+ years of industry experience applying that research to production systems
-
A demonstrated track record: this means having shipped ML systems that operate at real scale or in the real world
-
Deep, hands-on expertise with transformer-based architectures (LLMs, VLMs, multimodal models)
-
Strong software engineering skills (clean code, testing, system design, CI/CD) alongside strong Python and C++
-
Production experience with PyTorch (or TensorFlow / JAX) at scale
-
A strong mathematical and statistical foundation
-
Experience with reinforcement learning or imitation learning applied to real systems
-
Comfort operating with significant autonomy and navigating ambiguity
Nice to Have
-
Direct robotics experience (perception, control, or manipulation systems)
-
Experience with distributed training at scale (multi-node, large clusters)
-
Kubernetes or large-scale deployment systems in production
-
A recognized research profile — publications, patents, or open-source contributions with real traction in the AI/robotics community
Benefits
-
Competitive compensation package
-
Various employee subsidies and perks, including public transportation and Wellpass
-
Work with a world-class team in a flat hierarchy, with direct collaboration alongside the founders and engineering team
-
Opportunity to make a real impact by working on cutting-edge robotics and AI systems
-
Fast growth potential in a rapidly evolving company and industry
-
International office environment with English as the official working language
