Job Title: Civil Project Manager
Location: Stuttgart, Germany
Role Overview:
The Civil Project Manager (CPM) is overall responsible for the Civil scope of substation projects with regard to scope, cost, time and quality so as to obtain the greatest return for LINXON. This includes civil engineering, construction- and contracting activities, starting with tendering (together with the overall tendering Team) and ending with the hand-over to Installation and Commissioning Team a/o client,
The CPM will be required to work closely with the Tendering Team, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Managers, Project Management and Contract Management involved in the tendering and execution process of projects.
What will you do?
Define civil tendering, engineering, building facilities and construction strategy together with local business unit and all other organizations involved.
Prepare and administer standard documents for tendering, engineering and execution.
Establish effective communication procedures within internal and external partners.
In addition, establish a clear communication procedure between parties which are involved in project execution like Site Management and Engineering.
Monitor the ongoing civil performance projects, via a defined review process, in terms of on-time delivery, quality, cost, claims and OHS.
In conjunction with the Supply Cain Manager (SCM) and PM, monitor the construction market for any indication of short or long-term changes which could have any impact on tenders or ongoing projects.
Ensure that sufficient subcontractors for the civil work package are prequalified by LINXON for future and ongoing projects and tenders.
If required, assist SCM in the identification and prequalification of new Civil Subcontractors for:
- Specialized Earth and Foundation Works such as Piling
- Structural and Finishing Work
- Structural Steel Works
- Precast Works
- Earth Works
- Site Infra Structures (e.g. offices, accommodation etc.)
- Lighting & Small power
- HVAC
- Firefighting
Ensure that the civil design is carried out in accordance with customer and Linxon specifications, while also taking a cost-optimized approach into account.
Provide early warning of all matters affecting cost, time and quality
In conjunction with PM/PD and SM, establish the authority of the client's representative and agree procedures with them. Attend meetings with the client.
Attend Construction meetings at site periodically or as required from time to time
Support the Quality Management in establishing project specific quality plans and checklists. Interface with other parties in the establishment, tracking and closure of Non-Compliance Reporting.
Ensure traceability of Documentation and Correspondence in line with the Companies Document Control System (PIRS).
Competence
As necessary and in accordance with recognized procedures, engage the services of staff and consultant firms to support the successful execution of civil engineering and building services, construction and erection activities.
The right to receive at all times comprehensive and binding information on all matters relevant to the Department and Projects from those functions involved.
Educational Qualifications
Minimum educational qualification comprises a degree in Civil Engineering or another construction related subject.
Other Requirements

At least 10 years civil engineering or construction experience.

At least 5 years Plant design experience.

Comprehensive knowledge of the German civil construction market and building standards.

Basic substation knowledge

Computer familiarity (Text, Spreadsheets, Netware such as LN.., etc.)

Fluent in German (written and spoken). English, basic knowledge to communicate with Engineering center in India.

Willing for regular traveling.
