What to Expect
Tesla’s Cell Manufacturing Team is looking for a highly motivated individual to manage new electrode manufacturing engineering projects.
This is a cross-functional role that requires both direct management of a program management team and coordination between many different groups primarily within Tesla.
You will manage this team to implement large manufacturing engineering projects from design through install, commissioning, production start and ramp. You will use your engineering background to understand the product requirements, technical risks, and validation strategy to accelerate the solutions generation and deployment process. You will communicate and present project status, highlight schedule risk, and develop recovery plans in the event of a project slip.
You will interface across engineering disciplines within Cell Manufacturing, as well as Production Engineering and Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Factory Design, Construction to drive deployment plans of new internal manufacturing processes and equipment in our innovative Electrode area.
What You'll Do-
Facilitate definition of program goals, requirements and constraints to enable the program management team to effectively manage their scopes.
- Define long, medium and short term program plans, taking into consideration inputs from your team and cross functionals teams outside your organization.
- Ensure programs are executed on-time, within budget and meeting performance targets required to achieve electrode organizational objectives.
- Create, maintain, communicate, and present schedules for projects to the Cell engineering and leadership team

Inform prioritization of team project work based on schedule, risk, resources, and payback.

Track status of projects and action items against the schedule / project deliverables
- Work with cross-functional teams such as Factory Design, Construction, Quality, Supply Chain, Production Engineering and Operations and other supporting functions to scope out and drive projects for deployment of Cell Electrode manufacturing equipment and processes

Identify creative ways to overcome obstacles and meet the schedule despite setbacks
What You'll Bring-
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent

5+ years of experience working with development, installation, and ramping up of mass production manufacturing equipment, in a mixture of engineering and project management roles (experience in process mixing and roll-to-roll equipment a plus)

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to work cross-functionally and manage teams

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally requiring extended hours

Experience in Project Management tools, including Microsoft Project, JIRA and Confluence and other Agile Project Management methods

Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, and communicating scope, resource plans, and schedules

Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills

Ability to identify issues and develop corrective measures to resolve

Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
