What to Expect
Tesla's Supplier Industrialization Engineer (SIE) team manages component quality control, manufacturing process development and execution, and production for vehicles, Tesla Energy, batteries, and related components. The SIE role focuses on display critical components, handling sub-components, Top-Level-Assembly (TLA) processes, supplier qualification, and quality control to support Supply Chain metrics. Reporting to the SIE Manager and embedded in the Supply Chain Organization, the position supports New Product Introduction (NPI), Tesla Qualification Process (TQP), supplier quality improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives to ensure supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery. The SIE builds relationships with Display Engineering, Gigafactory Material Planning, Quality Assurance teams, and suppliers to meet quality and delivery targets, emphasizing supplier quality management and project delivery for Tesla and customer benefits in a fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and supply management expertise.
What You'll Do-
Responsible for the display TLA and sub-component development validation and management of existing and developing Tesla manufacturing partners
- Responsible for overall display quality management across all display supply chain. Responsible for display program management during mass production stage
- Support setup and develop new process in assembly manufacturing lines with candidate suppliers
- Support setup on supplier’s quality control flow and ramping operation (IQC/OQC) based on Tesla display inspection criteria, also to define containment plan and correct actions to ensure engineering design concept and yield target compliance
- Conduct FACA on any display quality issue and consolidate the implementation plan
- Access supplier’s production readiness to support engineering build and conduct TQP activity to meet SOP ramp
- Influence product manufacturability, testability, and supply chain responsiveness in pursuit of low cost and flexibility, while stewarding quality
- Drive supplier’s process performance and coordinate yield improvement to meet manufacturing cost reduction
- Support Tesla Gigafactory Quality Team to define and perform containment plan related to supplier-corrective-action-request (SCAR) part defect and field return
- Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure they are robust, sustainable, and implemented for similar potential concerns across manufacturing lines and/or suppliers. Present timely, concise reports or plan for product yield performance and supplier capacity
What You'll Bring-
Minimum 5+ years’ experience of quality management in display industry
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability, or equivalent experience

Technical knowledge in display technologies and manufacturing, such as LCD, Touch Sensor, and OLED a plus
- Knowledge of any of the following preferred: Optical bonding process, mechanical subassemblies, PCBA top level assembly, semiconductor, or IC driver procedure
- Experience on operation program management (or engineering program management)
- Solid communication skills with the ability to work in multinational environments
- Driven and motivated by accomplishing world-class objectives
- Experience in manufacturing, process engineering and quality controlling
- Understanding of costing concepts, cost reduction, modeling, etc. preferred
- Ability to travel frequently for on-site support
