The Assistant Product Manager Intern will provide hands-on operational support to the Product Management team. The role combines structured data work, market research, document control, sample logistics, development testing, and request tracking.
Collect, validate, and enter product data across Product Management tools, trackers, and shared documents.
Maintain product information, SKU sheets, product attribute lists, and related data sources with a high level of accuracy.
Conduct market research and competitive comparisons for sim racing products, accessories and spare parts.
Gather, structure, and maintain spare-parts information to support product planning, service readiness, and documentation needs.
Support document control activities, including version tracking, naming consistency, filing discipline, and cross-checking product information.
Apply sim racing knowledge and familiarity with the Fanatec portfolio to identify inconsistencies, missing information, and product context issues.
Manage inventory of Product Management samples, including intake, storage location tracking, availability, condition checks, and return follow-up.
Support testing of development samples by following test instructions, documenting observations, capturing reproducible issues, and escalating findings.
Enter and maintain Product Management issue records, including issue descriptions, status updates, priorities, owners, and supporting evidence.
Track and follow up on external Product Management requests, including ticket creation, status monitoring, reminder follow-up, and closure documentation.
Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Support, Documentation, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders as needed.
Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a degree program in Business, Product Management, Engineering, Industrial Design, Information Management, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
Strong interest in sim racing hardware and working knowledge of the Fanatec product portfolio, including wheel bases, steering wheels, pedals, cockpits and accessories.
Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working with structured product data, SKU information, spreadsheets, and shared trackers.
Good analytical skills for market research, comparison tables, competitive benchmarking, and information gathering.
Hands-on mindset for testing development samples, documenting observations clearly, and following test procedures.
Organized working style with the ability to manage sample inventories, open issues, external requests, and follow-up actions.
Proficient in using Microsoft Excel. Experience with ticketing, issue-tracking, PIM, PLM, ERP, or documentation systems is a plus.
Clear written and verbal communication skills in English; German language skills are a plus.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while escalating blockers, risks, or data-quality concerns promptly.
Reliable, curious, and collaborative attitude with a willingness to learn Product Management processes in a fast-moving hardware environment.
