Regulatory Manager Affairs - Flavours, Europe
Regulatory Expertise
Provide broad-based regulatory guidance related to labeling, nutrition, allergens, and ingredient compliance for flavors, food, beverage, and related applications.
Serve as a subject matter expert in regulatory compliance, supporting product development, commercialization, and customer-specific initiatives.
Develop, maintain, and manage scientific substantiation and regulatory documentation to support compliant use of products across applicable markets.
Identify regulatory risks and challenges associated with commercial opportunities and collaborate cross-functionally to develop compliant, practical solutions.
Interpret and apply regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies to real-world business scenarios.
Operational Excellence & Process Ownership
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of regulatory documentation delivered to internal and external customers.
Maintain accountability for meeting regulatory service expectations, quality standards, and key performance indicators.
Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory frameworks.
Identify opportunities for efficiency, standardization, and process optimization; support implementation of best practices across the department.
Demonstrate proficiency in required business systems and regulatory tools to support effective documentation and record management
Main Tasks and Goals:
Food law assessment and review of products, especially flavourings, both nationally and internationally (EU).
Stay current with emerging regulatory guidance, industry expectations and standards, and demonstrate the ability to translate these into process improvements and best practices.
Promotion of compliance awareness throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal and hazardous substance assessment of raw materials and finished goods.
Providing expert opinions and statements for internal queries from development, sales, quality assurance, purchasing, marketing, and management.
Administrative tasks such as creating product specifications, safety data sheets, and customer questionnaires.
Maintain an understanding/awareness and business impact on changing and upcoming regulations.
Additional Tasks:
Implementation, maintenance, and care of halal, kosher and other third-party certifications.
Other duties as assigned
Committee and Advisory Participation:
Member of project groups for introducing new software (e.g., for safety data sheets, recipe management).
Advising on compliance issues related to flavours across all company areas.
Contributing to the qualification, assessment, and monitoring of suppliers and customers.
Participate in industry/association meetings relevant to the business.
Profile:
Professional Experience Desired
Minimum of 7 years of progressive regulatory experience
Solid background in European regulatory compliance related to flavors, food, alcoholic beverages, food additives, or dietary supplements.
Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions and build strong professional relationships.
