Senior System Engineer Architecture (m/f/d)
OHB System AG is a large system integrator for space-based solutions in Europe. In the field of defence systems, OHB leads several large-scale projects for strategic and tactical reconnaissance and early warning missions. OHB is looking to extend its expertise in this area. One important aspect will be the high-level architecture definition of these systems based on customer requirements. We are currently looking for a Senior System Engineer with heritage in the architecture definition of such space systems mainly for early warning missions.
Your Tasks
Design authority for the system level architecture baseline
Analyse the customer requirements, external and internal systems’ needs, and missions needs
Support the customer in defining requirements baseline
Define architecture options for trade-studies that can full-fill customer mission objectives based on own knowledge
Perform system level trade-offs and system performance budgets
Define, maintain and pilot data-driven systems architectures
Technical coordination of multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver a consistent and scalable mission solution
Ensure coherence between the mission objectives and user capability requirements
Negotiate the solution(s) OHB internal with (technical) project management, technical team
Negotiate the solution(s) external with stakeholder(s) and other companies
Specify the selected solution / option for the requirements break-down
Plan, Organize and manage the supporting team of experts
For the area of responsibility responsible for project performance (schedule, cost, quality) as part of the project success
Define, develop and verify needed tool chain(s) for architecture trades
Technical leadership of internal research and development/research and technology projects
Work in an international team of experts from OHB and project partners
Your Qualifications
Successfully completed studies (Diploma or Master) in aerospace engineering, electronics, software development or equivalent qualification
Several years of experience in system-of-systems architecture design for space projects
Ideally several years of professional experience in defence and security systems
Very good understanding of several space sensing domains (mainly electro-optical)
Technical leadership and accountability
Strong competence in self-organizing and work planning
High motivation, pro-active working approach, and strong sense of responsibility
Strong competence in working in a multicultural team
Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
Ability and willingness to achieve a German security clearance
Fluency in both spoken and written English
Willingness to travel occasionally
