Job Summary:
Provides support to the Contact Team Lead on site surveys, packing and unpacking materials and equipment for movement, installation, de-installation, function checks, troubleshooting, forklift activities, supporting surge requirements, design training device components and technical writing. May perform MILES repair, preventative and ICS maintenance and training as required. Updates maintenance records in InSITE.

Ground Combat Weapons Simulation Specialist

Serves as a member of a Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) Tactical Engagement Simulation (TES) system contact team installing, de-installing, fault isolation, defective component removal and operational verification of tactical weapon firing simulation systems on-board U.S. Army combat vehicles during tactical combat field training exercises

Performs installation, testing, weapon firing to laser alignments, fault isolation, de-installation and operational verification of simulation equipment. Uses diagnostic test equipment functions and usage in validating weapons firing and effects simulation systems components

Integrates multiple TES-IS electronic components in to U.S. combat vehicle weapons platform control and firing electronics and hardware/software suites

Troubleshoots Simulated Area Weapons Effects-Radio Frequency (SAWE-RF) interfaces to the JMRC-Instrumentation System (JMRC-IS) simulation system components

Perform fault isolation testing, including the execution of complex technical diagnostics, expeditious fault component replacement and directs soldiers in the operational verification of the entire weapon

Installs, conducts complex repair, and replaces failed TES-IS equipment before, during and after training exercises

Provides technical support to soldiers during combat Individual Readiness Training (IRT) and peacekeeping training to include accompanying the U.S. military forces onto the simulated battlefield to provide additional instruction and troubleshooting of TES-IS devices throughout the 24-hour a day combat training exercise

Experienced in installing, bore-sighting, troubleshooting, and operating all TES training devices

Highly proficient and experienced in driving military combat vehicles in large combat maneuver training exercises, both day and night.

Possessed U.S. Army tactical vehicle operating license within the last four years. Must be night vision goggle qualified. Proficient in military map reading

Knowledgeable of U.S. Army rotary wing aircraft, combat vehicles, Ground-to-Air/Air-to-Ground and hand-held weapons systems, to include armament circuitry, weapons sighting systems and weapons control systems

Detailed knowledge of U.S. Army combat armament and combat vehicle weapons systems related tactical operations doctrine and of U.S. Combat Training Centers gained through field experience and/or military training

Knowledge and practical use of the Army maintenance and logistics systems

Knowledge and practical experience in the use of U.S. military Command, Control, and Communications C4I systems

Excellent physical condition and capable of working on military equipment in severe weather conditions in an extremely labor intensive, physically demanding environment including working long hours (10+ hours) on a 7-day a week schedule during combat training schedules

Fluent in reading, writing and speaking the English language, and knowledge of and experience with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Military mission, structure, technical standards and specifications, and American National Standards (ANSI) specifications
