Houlihan Lokey’s Capital Solutions Group comprises ~200 professionals globally and offers clients a broad range of tailored financing alternatives and strategic financial advice. Our team has deep senior-level relationships across the capital markets and a long track record of raising capital across varying market conditions. With deep expertise in both private and public markets, we are committed to delivering innovative, value-enhancing solutions that support long-term success for our clients.
The Debt Capital Solutions team at Houlihan Lokey is looking to add an Associate in its Debt Advisory team with a focus on corporate clients, from large publicly-listed companies and established family-owned businesses to high-growth start-ups. The work involves becoming an expert in a large variety of financing products. We provide comprehensive advisory across the entire capital structure, including:

Classical syndicated bank financing
-
Capital market instruments such as Term Loan Bs (TLB) and (high yield) bonds

Private placements and Schuldscheine/promissory notes

Asset-based lending (ABL) solutions
-
Private debt instruments such as unitranches, growth capital financing, hybrid capital, and rescue financings

Responsibilities

Lead selected transaction workstreams and support the overall day-to-day execution of financing advisory mandates (e.g. acquisition financings, refinancings,)

Coordinating and leading internal deal teams on the preparation of confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing materials, and other client deliverables

Support the analysis and negotiation of financing terms and documentation, and help formulate recommendations for clients

Prepare, analyse, and present historical and projected financial models in support of ongoing engagements

Assist in originating new client engagements for the Capital Solutions team across various jurisdictions, industries, and situations

Support relationship coverage of active debt investors, including banks, credit funds, and other alternative asset managers

Coordinate third‑party workstreams with other professional advisors and perform business due diligence

Mentor and support junior analysts

Basic Qualifications/Requirements

Relevant experience: Strong academic background and 3–4 years in Debt Advisory, Rating Advisory, Leveraged Finance, Structured Finance, or a similar role.

High Technical expertise: Strong financial modelling, financial analysis, and research skills.

Language and software skills: Fluency in German and English, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
