We are looking for a
Project Engineer for Electrical Drive Systems (m/f/d)
You will be working in a permanent role as the technical point of contact for the SES team "Electrical Engineering" in Hamburg, Behringstraße, Germany.
We are a young, motivated team that engages in fruitful discussion and supports one another in finding good solutions and overcoming challenges. We are working on exciting new-build projects with the aim of driving forward decarbonization in the maritime industry.
What you will do:
You will be responsible for technical clarifications during the project phase, developing solutions, driving continuous improvement and problem-solving - and you will help to enhance the quality of our products from project to project.
As a project engineer, you will bring the technical knowledge and understanding required to carry out the technical planning of the following main components and the integration of them into a system:
- Generators
- Switchgear
- Transformers
- Frequency converters
- Electric motors
- Battery systems
- Control systems
Your main tasks will be:
- Product-related project management in accordance with existing specifications
- Development and implementation of project-specific technical solutions
- Maintaining contact with customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders
- Drawing up technical specifications for suppliers
- Preparing documents (e.g. approval drawings, assembly and planning instructions, final documentation)
- Organising and coordinating the work of, amongst others, development (software clarification), design (drawing production), procurement, dispatch and commissioning
- Participating in FAT (in-house and at suppliers' premises) with the team and the customer
- Supporting commissioning, on site and abroad where required
- Participating in sea trials
- Technical support for of warranty claims
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Preferably a Master´s or Bachelor´s degree in a relevant area (Electrical Engineering) or an equivalent qualification.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience; however, we also welcome career starters or young professionals.
- Knowledge of the systems, in particular the main components described above.
- A structured and practical approach to work with a hands-on attitude.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications and, preferably, SAP Hana as well.
- Fluent in German and English
In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers and supplieres. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
