ENGLISH
Develop machines that drive the future of clean energy.
About Us
We are a fast-growing technology company with 30 employees and headquarters in Nuremberg, Germany. We develop and manufacture fully automated robotic systems for solar cell and battery research—devices that help scientists push the boundaries of renewable energy technology. Leading research institutions and companies in Europe, North America, and Asia rely on our equipment.
Given the size of our company, every engineer helps shape the product. You’re not just a cog in the machine—you’re the engineer who makes the machine run.
The Position
You’ll be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our automation systems—from creating the circuit diagram to watching the finished system run through its first automated test sequence. Your work will encompass electrical design, motion control, embedded communications, and software—often all within the same week.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and assembly of control cabinets: circuit diagrams, wiring, component selection, and commissioning
- Integration of modern servo and motion controllers to drive precision motors, valves, and actuators
- Implementation of communication layers using CAN/CANopen, Modbus, Ethernet, and OPC/UA
- Development of hardware abstraction layers and automation scripts in Python
- Assembly and mechanical integration of subsystems, including electric motors, drives, and valves
- Bringing prototypes to life: bench testing, debugging, iterating, and validating
- Collaborate with a small, cross-functional team from concept to shipment
What We’re Looking For
We value a combination of technical skill and solid engineering knowledge. The ideal background:
- Completed training in mechatronics, electronics, or a related technical field
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or automation engineering—ideally from a university of applied sciences or an equivalent institution
- In-depth knowledge of control panel construction: circuit diagrams, wiring, EMC, and relevant safety standards
- Practical experience with servo drives and motion control systems
- Familiarity with industrial fieldbus protocols: CAN/CANopen, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, or OPC/UA
- Proficiency in Python for hardware control and the creation of automation scripts
- Mechanical assembly skills—confident handling of motors, couplings, valves, and customer-specific assemblies
- Good command of English and German—for documentation, customer communication, and internal team communication
Preferred
- Experience with laboratory automation or scientific measurement equipment
- Knowledge of EtherCAT or PROFINET
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical
- Knowledge of DIN EN 60204-1, the VDE 0100 series of standards, and the European Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC)
- Experience with functional safety in mechanical engineering (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 62061)
- Genuine interest in renewable energy technologies and materials research
What we offer
- A key role in a growing company where your work directly shapes the product
- Diverse, challenging tasks—no two weeks are alike
- Close collaboration with a highly qualified, well-coordinated team
- International focus: Your systems will be delivered to three continents
- A competitive salary commensurate with your experience
- Flexible working hours and a modern workplace in Nuremberg
- Opportunities for professional development as the company grows
