Pre-Sales Engineer at Verimatrix is responsible for providing comprehensive technical and commercial pre-sales support to the Sales Department. S/he identifies, qualifies and scopes business opportunities by translating customer business and technical requirements into effective content security and anti-piracy solutions, covering hardware, software, datasets, content, networks, video delivery workflows, and cloud infrastructure, including the integration points with 3rd party vendors or proprietary systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collects, analyzes, evaluates, and interprets complex customer commercial and technical requirements and turns them into strategic, accurate, cost-effective, technical proposals using proprietary Verimatrix solutions and 3rd party solutions that meet customer needs with tight deadlines.
- Becomes a trusted advisor to our customers and partners to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and identify core technical and business requirements in order to meet and exceed customer’s needs, and accelerate and grow recurring revenue for the Company.

Highly adaptable to learning new technologies, tools, methods, partners, cultures and changing customer priorities.

Maintains knowledge of general market conditions / requirements and provides input to appropriate development and marketing departments to assist in decisions for enhancements to services and feature/functionality sets and pricing models.
- Maintains knowledge of key competitor environments and identifies key strengths of Verimatrix service offerings in competitive sales situations. Updates competitive information.

Maintains a continuing and effective communication with other Sales Staff and customers by ensuring questions are responded to efficiently and proxied to appropriate stakeholders in other departments as necessary.

Provides coaching and professional development to sales team members in order to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills.

Liaison with Product Management, Engineering, Cloud, Security, and Global Operations to understand details of product direction and design and communicate information back to sales organization and customers

Gathers customer feedback, market requirements and ideas and provide this information to Product Management.

Setup and configure demos and trials of Company products/services with customers and partners

Able to work remotely, independently and meet customer and Company deadlines

Generates sales quotes, architecture diagrams, and technical summaries of proposed solutions

Strong business-level written, verbal and presentation skills in English
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS-
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or similar field.

10 to 12 years progressive experience in Engineering or Sales Engineering fields with proven ability to understand customers’ business models and determine cost-effective strategies for implementations.

Working knowledge of major DRM ecosystems, including Google Widevine, Microsoft PlayReady, and Apple FairPlay, and how they integrate and coexist within multi-DRM content protection architectures.

Good understanding of technologies and services such as CDNs, SaaS platforms and Cloud Services such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end video delivery workflows for live and VOD content across OTT, IPTV, and DVB ecosystems, spanning streaming media, cable, satellite and broadcast systems.

Understanding of CAS and DRM models, including coexistence in hybrid delivery architectures.

Working knowledge of video transport and streaming technologies such as DASH and HLS.

Ability to articulate trade-offs between security, latency, scalability, and quality of experience (QoE).

Familiarity with the broader video ecosystem, including encoders, packagers, middleware, players, and CDNs, and how content security solutions integrate within these environments.

Understanding of Set-Top Box (STB) architectures and operations, including how STBs integrate with DVB, IPTV, and OTT ecosystems, secure content playback, DRM enforcement, middleware interaction, and basic troubleshooting within the video delivery chain.

Hands-on skills with Android, iOS and/or embedded Linux software development in C, C++, Java, Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift, Python and JavaScript.

Knowledge of security methods such as public-key cryptography, SSL, TLS, awareness of encryption algorithms such as AES and RSA and pen-testing strategies such as performing NESSUS scans and setting up red teams.

Understanding of application protection and security technology and reviews for OWASP security risks and tools like MobSF.
- Practical experience with Git/version control and with integrating REST APIs and video player SDKs, sufficient to configure, customize, and support technical demos, proofs-of-concept, and customer integrations.

Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills, both presentation and written.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel up to 50% of time
