The Sustainability & Community Impact team at DoorDash works across our global brands — DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo — to advance the company's approach to the issues that matter most to our business, our communities, and the world we operate in. We sit within the Policy and Communications function and work closely with other teams on a daily basis.
We're hiring a Lead, Global ESG Reporting to build and lead DoorDash's global ESG reporting function from the ground up. This is a new role: the first dedicated strategic owner of ESG disclosures across the company. As regulations proliferate across jurisdictions (from the EU's CSRD to California's SB 253 to Australia's Modern Slavery Act), DoorDash needs someone to bring clarity, structure, and strategic thinking to a landscape that is growing in both volume and complexity.
The role spans more ground than a traditional ESG reporting function: alongside disclosure strategy and regulatory compliance, you'll own our GHG measurement program and Scopes 1 & 2 emissions strategy, and manage the growing volume of ESG data requests we receive from enterprise partners.
You'll set the strategy, build the infrastructure, and become the internal expert on all things ESG reporting and disclosure.
- Own DoorDash's global strategy for ESG-related disclosures — determining how, when, and at what level of ambition we respond to mandatory regulations, voluntary frameworks, and reputational expectations across all jurisdictions including the EU, UK, US, Canada, and Australia
- Act as the internal expert and cross-functional DRI on ESG reporting, aligning Legal, Finance and Technical Accounting, IR, Communications, Policy, HR, and Operations around a coherent approach and holding the narrative and numbers together across all external-facing disclosures
- Build the reporting infrastructure, processes, and governance needed for the company to meet its disclosure obligations efficiently and consistently — establishing what doesn't yet exist and improving on what does
- Serve as the primary point of contact for enterprise partner ESG data requests, building processes to address a growing volume of vendor questionnaires, framework-specific data fields, and merchant-facing disclosures in a scalable way
- Oversee GHG measurement — working closely with a measurement vendor, coordinating data collection across the business, and ensuring our approach is audit-ready as assurance requirements mature
- Own DoorDash's Scopes 1 & 2 emissions strategy — building a forward-looking plan to drive operational efficiency across our facilities
- Meaningful experience in ESG, sustainability reporting, compliance, or a closely related field — with hands-on ownership of major reporting frameworks such as CSRD/ESRS, TCFD, GRI, SASB, Modern Slavery, and/or CDP
- A genuine builder mindset: you've created reporting infrastructure or processes from scratch before, not just maintained what someone else built (and you're energized by that kind of work)
- Strong cross-functional influencer who can align stakeholders across Legal, Finance, IR, and Operations without direct authority, and who is comfortable being the person others look to for direction rather than waiting to be told what to do
- Excellent written communication skills — you can draft a regulatory disclosure, write an internal strategy memo, and brief a senior stakeholder, all with equal fluency and appropriate calibration to your audience
- A principled, business-grounded view of ESG: you take compliance seriously, bring genuine expertise to the space, and can advise leadership on where to invest and lead versus where meeting requirements is the right call
This is a rare opportunity to build a new function and strategy, with real visibility across a global company. You'll be joining at an exciting moment: before the wave of regulatory requirements fully lands. The work is substantive and growing — from CSRD groundwork to enterprise partner data requests to our Scopes 1 & 2 strategy — and the cross-functional network you'll build (Legal, Finance, IR, Comms, Ops) means you'll have meaningful exposure from day one.
Our process includes a short screener after resume review, followed by a series of interviews.
