The organization Strategic Procurement, Direct Material is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies for direct materials and services that will ensure the optimization of Siemens Energy’s competitive position. As a Corporate Commodity Manager for Valves & Actuators, you will be part of Corporate Strategic Procurement team (SE P DM SYS RA), lead a cross-functional team globally and are responsible for a Corporate commodity strategy. Focus is on developing and managing a Valves & Actuator suppliers. Typical day for Corporate Commodity Manager includes define/execution of commodity strategies, negotiation with suppliers, supplier relationship management, supplier contract management, reporting, problem solving and escalation handling, supply chain risk mitigation as well as alignment meetings with internal/external x-functional team.
How You’ll Make an Impact

Development and execution of the global commodity strategy for Valves & Actuators, including cross-functional and global alignment with business units.

Market, supplier, and cost analysis, including market intelligence, supply landscape assessment, cost structure evaluation, and identification of cost-saving and innovation opportunities.

Strategic supplier management and development, including supplier selection, qualification, relationship management, business reviews, scorecard evaluation, and ESG compliance.

Commercial and contractual management, including leadership of complex negotiations, framework agreements, pricing, capacity, service level agreements (SLAs), and supply contracts.

Supply chain risk and capacity management, including business continuity planning, dual/multi-sourcing strategies, demand-versus-supply balancing, and mitigation of geopolitical and supply chain risks.

Cross-functional stakeholder management and executive alignment, including leadership of commodity councils, collaboration with R&D, Cost Value Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Procurement, as well as preparation and facilitation of quarterly business reviews.
What You Bring
-
Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Packaging Technology, or a related discipline, combined with Extensive experience of strategic procurement experience, preferably in Direct Materials within the Energy, Oil & Gas, or Process Industry.

Strong commercial, negotiation, and analytical capabilities, with expertise in structured problem-solving and strategic decision-making.

In-depth knowledge of Valves & Actuators supply markets, contract law, export control, and geopolitical cost management strategies.

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives in a global matrix organization; operations and supply chain leadership experience considered an advantage.

Fluency in English; German and additional languages considered an asset.

Willingness to travel internationally (~25%); position available in Germany, Sweden, or the United States.
