At Point Nine, we work closely with some of the most ambitious founders around the world. Our Platform team builds the communities, connections and experiences that support them throughout the company-building journey. As Events & Community Manager, you’ll own the moments that bring our founder community to life — from intimate dinners to large-scale summits.
Working closely with our Director of Platform (Laura), our General Partners and teams across the firm, you’ll be the person who turns ideas into unforgettable in-person and online experiences. If you get energy from pulling off a flawless event and sweat the details others miss, this role is for you.
This is a hands-on, highly operational role with a high degree of ownership and autonomy. It’s ideal for someone who lives for great events, cares deeply about production quality and craft and loves bringing builders together.
What you will do
-
Own events end to end: from Founder Summits, dinners, and masterclasses to university initiatives and ecosystem events — you’ll own everything from concept and logistics to on-site execution and follow-up. You’re the person making sure every event runs smoothly and feels exceptional.
-
Set the bar on production quality: You care about how things look, feel, and flow — venue, format, run-of-show, catering, staging, and all the small touches that turn a good event into a memorable one. You bring taste and a high standard to everything we put into the world.
-
Create exceptional founder experiences: design thoughtful, high-value experiences for our founders and community, online and offline, making sure founders get the right support at the right moments.
-
Nurture our community: support founder communications and community touch points across newsletters, Slack/WhatsApp groups, and other channels — keeping the P9 Family connected between events.
-
Keep things organised: manage timelines, budgets, vendors, guest lists and systems (CRM etc.). You run a tight operational setup and improve workflows as you go.
-
Manage partnerships: build and maintain relationships with venues, vendors, and ecosystem partners and help our portfolio companies access relevant opportunities.
-
Improve how we work: notice what’s inefficient, suggest better ways of doing things and continuously evolve how we deliver events and experiences.
About you
You’re genuinely excited about startups, technology, and the founder journey. You love running events and take pride in flawless execution and high production quality. You’re highly organised, calm under pressure and thrive on-site when things are moving fast. You have strong judgment, obsessive attention to detail and high standards for everything you deliver. You’re proactive, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership in a small, distributed team — figuring things out and moving forward without needing constant direction.
What we’re looking for
We don’t require a specific degree, but we expect a few years of experience running events and experiences — in startups, venture capital, community or ecosystem roles, agencies or hospitality. You enjoy being hands-on, care deeply about quality and details and want to operate close to ambitious founders and operators. Bonus if you’ve built communities from the ground up or managed vendor and partner relationships.
About us
Point Nine is a thesis-driven early-stage venture capital firm. We’re a small equal partnership, based in Europe, investing globally in AI for the digital, physical and biological world. At any given time, each of our four partners works closely with 6-8 companies. We invest $1-10 million per company, working alongside exceptional founders to accelerate their learning, provide unfair shortcuts and help them realise their potential.
Since 2008, we’ve been among the first investors in companies such as Attio, Contentful, Docplanner, Loom, Poolside, Preply, Revolut and Zendesk.
Location and setup
This role is based in Berlin. We work in a flexible hybrid setup, but since this role is all about creating great in-person moments for our founders and community, we expect you in the office regularly and especially during events and community initiatives.
